FairLadyRantALot · 18/06/2009 12:37

erm...grr... that was of course have made me ....crap

Jumente · 18/06/2009 12:40

I think I may start one saying how irritating the troll-spotter-haters are, and wondering why said troll spotters affect them so badly that they needed to start a thread about it...

Jumente · 18/06/2009 12:41

Oh stop it Chevre, do you not think you have said enough? Your point has been made.

Please have the basic courtesy to leave it as this isn't doing anyone any good and I bet the actual trolls are reading it and loving it.

chevre · 18/06/2009 12:41

where is the attack?

OP posts:
Fimbo · 18/06/2009 12:42

Well, I would reckon this is the post that is the start of it.

Agree with shoot from the hip shootfromthehip, the ongoing competition is just as annoying as the trolls themselves. I'm not sure what kudos there is in being the first one to 'out' the troll but it seems to fascinate a certain section of MN.

I went onto a 'lets revel in outing the trolls thread' to point out they were just feeding the troll but got shouted down by the self appointed leader and told I was the one actually feeding the troll by writing that hmm I pressed hide thread after that

At least they've stopped talking about wearing their 'troll hunting cloaks' as was the boring trend a little while ago, that's progress I suppose

Jumente · 18/06/2009 12:42

I didn't say you attacked her, but others certainly have. So I think we need to stop.

Fimbo · 18/06/2009 12:44

Ok not a direct attack but pretty easy to spot who is targetted as "the self appointed leader".

chevre · 18/06/2009 12:44

i am honestly astonished i just came on mn found all the crazy s quite annoying and mentioned it. i missed teh whole cvq thing. and i lola has always been abit of a weirdy bore.

no one attack anyone particularily.

OP posts:
Fimbo · 18/06/2009 12:45

I am leaving now before this gets any further out of hand.

chevre · 18/06/2009 12:45

it wasn't easy for me sorry it all passed me by as does most of the shouty shite that goes on.

OP posts:
Fimbo · 18/06/2009 12:46

So you know nothing about it then Chevre. God this just gets worse.

Right I am definately going now.

Jumente · 18/06/2009 12:48

Swift half in the saloon suit you Fimbo? I'm buying

Fimbo · 18/06/2009 12:50

Aye, just dusting off the chaps as we speak.

shadowofacow · 18/06/2009 12:50

not everyone on this thread is new, some of us just have new names, i joined at the same time as littlelapin.

i know all about what happend with cvq and while i agree that it was shoking what she did its not fair that everyone who namechanges or starts on mumsnet with a unusual problem shout be met with faces and comments about "aaahh i see this is your first post" "are you new" or the really annoying "t".

BroodyChook · 18/06/2009 12:58

As a newbie, have to say that all the 'troll' stuff can be quite intimidating. I've posted on a few threads, but have avoided giving advice on others for fear of being held in suspicion. Mind you, every forum I've ever posted on has had 'troll' problems at one time or another. There is no definitive answer.

Ewe · 18/06/2009 13:11

I agree that this troll hunting is ridiculous. Do you know what I have noticed today (after someone mentioned it to me last night actually), the traipsing through previous posts to ensure all the information matches up. Even on posts that seem fairly innocuous.

It's rude, it's an invasion of privacy and I think really against the spirit of MN. Makes me want to namechange and have all my past posts deleted and I am not a troll, been on here for bloody ages and met loads of people.

I think it is really ruining the feel of the site.

chevre · 18/06/2009 13:14

exactly ewe, and i really object to being made to feel like some sort of vicious beatch for having an opinion.

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 18/06/2009 13:16

Well, Chevre, I see your point now.

A woman has posted who is obviously angry and upset and people are bloody calling troll and trawling through her posts.

Jumente · 18/06/2009 13:19

Ok I am now watching another thread dissolve into faux sleuthing and it is beyond reprehensible.

I see what you guys are getting at, unfortunately this thread turned into something that was wide of the mark, but I do take your original point Chevre in the light of what's happening right now.

Nothing to do with Psycho, I might add, and I think the refs to her on this thread were out of line. But look at this, it's blody horrible.

Chevre - pint for you also, by way of apology?

chevre · 18/06/2009 13:21

jumente - no apols needed i just dislike aggro generaly and wanted to sort out the fact that i wasn't attacking pyscho

OP posts:
BitOfFun · 18/06/2009 13:21

Theycallmelofty seems a tad callous though.

Jumente · 18/06/2009 13:23

Sorry Chev, I think we are Ok now, hope so. Lofty was being a bit of a caaaa, not you...

Lizzylou · 18/06/2009 13:29

That's the one, Jumente!

Can I have a pint too?
