Im sori I dnt actually speak like that but being a student and a normal 24yr old who admittitly is addicted to her Phone i do lapse and more often than not revert to forgetting to add a letter to make my words complete. I do not deem this as lazy nor ignorant and i dnt feel that my abbreviations are that different from using DS, DH and FIL on here. I have been told that to use such 'txt spk' or to not write my words completley i will be hated on mumsnet. So am i being unreasonable if i forget my stupid letters?? Think bloody not! Ps, am crap at spelling, does mean im thick though does it

yeah s'pose it did work if your aim was to introduce yourself as someone who was confrontational and quite hard work. Was that the aim ?!

FattipuffsandThinnifers · 16/06/2009 17:16

Ah, seems I missed the revelation before posting.

Not sure quite what you wanted to prove OP. That people on MN prefer others to have basic manners, and to write clearly? Well now you know.

LoveBeingAMummy · 16/06/2009 17:17

clarice me thinks you might have hit the nail on the head!!!!

I think it's a bit naff for you all to pick on cordenbleurgh. She's lovely and defended a friend was knowing went into something and was going to look wrong in others eyes. Thats a good mate sticking up for someone right there - and she warned me off! So leave her alone

HailStorm your OP was obviously worded to get a reaction beyond "no i dnt like text speak or yes i do".

You invited people to judge you and they did.

I am leaving this thread now. As troll posts go, this is probably the most boring one for a while. I give it 1/10 (which sounds like the lowest mark you've been awarded for a while).

FattipuffsandThinnifers · 16/06/2009 17:19

Posieparker, your posts are all spot-on, I love you

"where do you fit in with this social experiment HS has been conducting? Are you part of it?"

Sorry fimbo, I misunderstood your question.

I had no idea she was calling it a social experiment!!

I just encouraged her to join, she told me what she was going to post and where, and I made sure she knew full well before she posted what would happen!

We are not doing any experiments as part of our uni work, so this is all in Hails head.

"I hate to say it, but I would be rather of a university that handed out high marks like confetti, unless their students were particularly brilliant"

bleh, my marks so far have been 76%, 79% and 81% respectively. Do you think that I have been awarded marks that are not on parr with the actual work I produce?

Is my tutor giving me the wrong marks? A lot of us on this course are getting very good grades.

PMSL at the lot of you. Im presuming a troll is a rogue poster?? your obviously all here for a little confrontation and you got it. My post wasn't intended to be a troll post. It was from wonderment and a general interest in the workings and the ways people interact... My studying interests me so to me it doesn't stop when i close the book...

Tut at Lovingbeingamummy for dropping her h's!

scaredoflove · 16/06/2009 17:26

I have dyslexia, if I use text speak it still goes wrong, doesn't matter if the word has 3 letters or 33, I will still get letters in the wrong place

I spend ages looking, checking and retyping so it is readable, it isn't hard

Your spelling isn't a problem but your attitude is

HailStorm · 16/06/2009 17:26

I did not once state i was doing a social experiment as part of my uni work so i duno where that idea was produced! As stated it was from a general interest.

I'm gutted that the OU is handing out high marks to someone who does not care to use "you're" instead of "your".

I have studied with the OU - maths - so was right up there with Einstain. Alot more rigorous in my day...

BitOfFun · 16/06/2009 17:29

This sounds like fun.

HailStorm · 16/06/2009 17:30

Im dyslexic and use a spell checker for essays claricebeansmum

cordonbleugh · 16/06/2009 17:30

"someone who does not care to use "you're" instead of "your"."

Is that directed at OP clarice?

LoveBeingAMummy · 16/06/2009 17:30

clarice - thats it I won't be allowed to post again now everyone will think its text speak!

Stayingsunnygirl · 16/06/2009 17:36

Well, HailStorm - I judged you according to the evidence you gave, and I found you rude and arrogant. And now it turns out you were just trying to teach us a lesson about judging, or you were studying us - yesssss - that makes me like you far more - not!

HailStorm · 16/06/2009 17:40

Stayingsunnygirl i wasnt teaching anyone anything i was just wondering is all.
