Im sori I dnt actually speak like that but being a student and a normal 24yr old who admittitly is addicted to her Phone i do lapse and more often than not revert to forgetting to add a letter to make my words complete. I do not deem this as lazy nor ignorant and i dnt feel that my abbreviations are that different from using DS, DH and FIL on here. I have been told that to use such 'txt spk' or to not write my words completley i will be hated on mumsnet. So am i being unreasonable if i forget my stupid letters?? Think bloody not! Ps, am crap at spelling, does mean im thick though does it

quattro, Hail is Hai, not a regular in disguise, and I'm sure Rhubarb wouldn't want to be attributed to such a thread!

Horton · 16/06/2009 18:32

I have no idea if you are thick or not, Hailstorm, although on balance you don't sound especially clever. You do, however, sound a bit immature and very arsey and as if you lack basic social skills. I think YABU. But it's probably not your fault if you're as young for your age as you sound.

cordonbleugh · 16/06/2009 18:32

Hail not Hai. grrr

FAQinglovely · 16/06/2009 18:33

CB - go and put your kid to bed .

You should have known better having been here since Feb

BitOfFun · 16/06/2009 18:33

Are they going to teach basic social skills on this social care course? < worried >

FAQinglovely · 16/06/2009 18:34

oi - no dissing the course please ladies - it's the same one I'm doing..............

Quattrocento · 16/06/2009 18:36

Thnaks for clarification BoF.

I'm reluctant to give up my pet theory, though. Are you REALLY sure it's not a reg who's having a joke?

BitOfFun · 16/06/2009 18:36

I'm not! Honestly!

FAQinglovely · 16/06/2009 18:37

I'm certain it's not a regular - just based on information just given to me (in last few minutes) off MN .

cordonbleugh · 16/06/2009 18:37

FAQ I'm going!!

sorry everyone, I think I'll refrain from encouraging people to join from now on.

I honestly didn't think she'd post in this way.

But blimey, first ever post in AIBU!! Takes a brave one.

BitOfFun · 16/06/2009 18:38

Night CB

cordonbleugh · 16/06/2009 18:41

BOF, I'm not going to bed! Have to put DD to bed.

But mark my words, I'll be straight back here!

BitOfFun · 16/06/2009 18:42

Going yourself could be for the best

differentID · 16/06/2009 18:42

CB, not brave at all.

Effing lunatic, imo!

psychomum5 · 16/06/2009 18:42

this thread is horrible coming so soon after the trollfest we have had.

makes a nasty taste that people can join so readily to just to be fuckwitted.

FAQinglovely · 16/06/2009 18:42

CB - rest assured you haven't ruined things - unless you're built like a daisy - in which case you wouldn't have survived since Feb . You've got to really p*ss people off to ruin things for yourself LOL.

cordonbleugh · 16/06/2009 18:44

thanks FAQ.

Bit worried at BOF's comment though - do you mean going tonight, or permanently?

BitOfFun · 16/06/2009 18:44

I am only joking, you noodle!

FAQinglovely · 16/06/2009 18:46

physco - I don't think it's that the OP posts in the OU Firstclass forums using text speak as well, but on there we're not allowed to REALLY lay our teeth into debates (you know in case we upset someone ) so she probably thinks what CB has told her about it not really being the "done thing" on MN is a joke...........

FAQinglovely · 16/06/2009 18:47

oh just ignore BoF - she's just having a ermmm, bit of fun

cordonbleugh · 16/06/2009 18:47

right. Must. log. off.

nope, can't do it!

It doesn't matter if DD goes to bed a bit late while I MN study a bit longer does it?

Qally · 16/06/2009 18:48

"She shouldn't require a backup" no, she probably doesn't, but I'm her friend, I like to stick up for my mates. Not saying that you don't obviously."

God, I don't. We're not 12 ffs. I have sufficient respect for them to assume the intelligence and integrity to look after themselves. Though in this case, I can see the problem with that assumption.

And wow, if health and social care is her professional goal. Doesn't that take maturity and sensitivity in dealing with some vulnerable people?

"Hail isn't doing a sociology degree though - she's doing health and social care, she doesn't know how to conduct a professional 'social experiment'."

My own vocational degree examined those aspects, because how on earth can you critically examine the available data otherwise? You can't.

psychomum5 · 16/06/2009 18:48

well, CB should feel a tad embarrassed then!!

that said, seeing as she never has actually layed eyes on this poster, maybe she is being taken for a ride by a hairy trucker, and we should reserve sympathy.....

FAQinglovely · 16/06/2009 18:52

ooooo physcho - please don't tell me we have hairy truckers on the OU FirstClass HSC forums!!!

pagwatch · 16/06/2009 18:53

....but as my child will need social care when he is bigger I am a and now.

Although this does explain the group that speak to you as if you are dim and think they know everything and you know nothing ( although it is your child and they have never actually met him but they did get an A)
