To think MNet has really changed in the past few years...?

and not in a good way. It's become an awful place, really. I'm an ancient m'netter of circa 5 years and remember the days of pirate sex, fighting with other parenting forums etc and Cod's dyslexic ramblings. It was fun back then. Now it's a bitchfest.

no idea, i'm watching something that won't be on for two weeks...

scottishmummy · 13/06/2009 20:44

yes that caught my eye

chatta · 13/06/2009 20:45

I know could you get thicker or more low rent.It used to be a selection of intellectual women supporting each other and saying their bit.Now its we eat shit and talk it too

drowninginclutter · 13/06/2009 20:45

They do look better in bold as well, if you're not going to swear properly the least you can do is have serious asterisks (also stumped by plural asterikii?)

ThePhantomPlopper · 13/06/2009 20:45

I see the thread moved on about an hour ago .

scottishmummy · 13/06/2009 20:47

i like phantomplopper very onomatopoeic

BoysAreLikeDogs · 13/06/2009 20:49

hmmm chatta on this v thread we are using Long Words and pondering the plural of asterisk and ever'thing

Dumbledoresgirl · 13/06/2009 20:52

Aitch, prepare yourself for the Stupidest Question of the Night.

Are you a tv reviewer for more than MN?

AitchTwoOh · 13/06/2009 20:55

i am, yes.

Dumbledoresgirl · 13/06/2009 20:56

Oh god is it asterick not asterix? I have been reading too many comics again, haven't I?

AitchTwoOh · 13/06/2009 20:57

i'm not really the tv reviewer for mn, tbh. they just asked me to write 35 words or so for their letter thingie. you can't do much of a review in thirty five words.

Dumbledoresgirl · 13/06/2009 20:59

Well being asked to write some words every week on the subject of tv programmes sounds like a tv reviewer to me. Though I take the point that you don't feel you have enough words to say what you want.

Between you and me, it was weeks before I realised that your review on the newsletter was sometimes (always?) longer than the lines they show.

AitchTwoOh · 13/06/2009 20:59

i love asterix. do you still get them? i've got a pile of old copies on my shelves.

chatta · 13/06/2009 21:00

Ah but it used to be a guaranteed interesting and smart converational vehicle where now the brainless have descended and are trying to make it a chav tastic heartland.od was positively phd but now we are accepting the dregs SORT IT OUT GIRLS!

AitchTwoOh · 13/06/2009 21:00

arf. it depends on how i'm feeling or how much i know about it. sometimes i've already watched cos of Real Work and sometimes i haven't.

Dumbledoresgirl · 13/06/2009 21:01

Or that Carmenere didn't source all the recipes herself....

Yes, you can buy all the Asterix books still. In fact, I think Asterix is the only thing ds1 has ever got out of the library.

Dumbledoresgirl · 13/06/2009 21:03

Oh chatta that is so untrue. It used to have a much more universal clientele. Now it seems that if you don't shop in Waitrose and buy from Boden you are a bit of a social outcast.

scottishmummy · 13/06/2009 21:05

and the derision of greggs is heartreaking.i love greggs

southeastastra · 13/06/2009 21:07

Ronaldinhio · 13/06/2009 21:07

Dumbledoresgirl · 13/06/2009 21:08
