to have voted for the BNP today

and feel that I should keep it a secret (have name changed obviously) for fear of being lynched!!

It is a perfectly legal party that has been totally demonised in the media. I was even worried that I may be able to be traced from my ballot paper but I took the risk and voted for them because all the other parties are the bloody same and none of them have the guts to sort this country out. Suppose I'll never get to heaven now .

OP posts:

YABVU

barnsleybelle · 04/06/2009 21:57

saadia... i think you may be right. How sad, that people with those belief systems are raising our society's children.

fondant4000 · 04/06/2009 22:06

How can anyone watch Barrack Obama's speech today and then want to vote BNP? [shakes head].

No words can say how contemptible and stupid it is.

junglist1 · 04/06/2009 22:09

She's not stupid apparently, she's educated!!

sheneversaidit · 04/06/2009 22:10

I am slightly obsessed with the BNP in that I think they are truly horrific. I have a really busy night tonight & a big day tomorrow and I have sat and read this whole bloody thread which I very rarely do.

I am sickened by the BNP and anyone who ever supported them would be automatically abominable in my eyes. If you ever want to know what will happen if they truly got into power look no further than the atrocities that did occur in Nazi Germany. Rape, torture, murder, genocide, children abused and starved and beaten - the list is so endless I could do it for hours - but anyone with an ounce of brain cells wouldnt need to hear it. And for someone as stupid as the OP you wont listen anyway will you because you want things to be shit. You want there to be drama and hell and what not because it fulfills some basic caveman/woman need to destroy. It is foul.

When I think of what this world has seen - all the broken hearts and parents dying to save their children and soldiers dying to save strangers - the BNP disgust me - AS DO YOU OP.

I am American, DS and I have dual citizenship, he was born here, DH is English. I look at my son and I know their twisted policies can be extrapolated out to him and when I think of all the children who have suffered in the world from racism it makes me truly sick. My son is precious as is every other child regardless of genetic background. Look at your own child - are you happy for them to be tortured, raped, or even to do the torturing and to do the rape? It is utter madness. No love and give that. If you love your child you can not give them that legacy of hate.

Nancy66 · 04/06/2009 22:10

I think the poster has confused 'educated' with 'brainwashed'

Anifrangapani · 04/06/2009 22:16

Intelligent people read several sources of information before making up their mind, not just the advertising bumph that someone shoves through their door. A manifesto highlights the positive aspects of a party and is not legally binding ( remember Labour's manifesto promise of a referendum that came to nothing).

LolaTheShowgirl · 04/06/2009 22:18

As well as being racist, they're also homophobic. What a bunch of loser knobheads.

SolidGoldBrass · 04/06/2009 22:24

When I was out working a couple of days ago I saw a Vote BNP poster in someone's window. Now I fully believe in the right of idiots to express their opinions, and the right to vote for a party made up of shit-eating maniacs, and all that, so I was quite surprised by my own reaction, which was a very strong urge to chuck a stone through that window.
Didn't do it, of course, because why demonstrate one's dislike for the BNP by, er, behaving like a BNP member?

Louby3000 · 04/06/2009 22:24

Holy fucking shit, Did you see the BNP special in this weekends gaurdian/observer???I am VERY alarmed that their thuggush nazi sympathising, homophobic, racist, bernard manning loving rhetoric is even penetrating anyone who is literate. YANBU- you should be ashamed of yourself.

ilovesprouts · 04/06/2009 22:30
Shock
motherpi · 04/06/2009 22:38

Anyone else this that this may be a (vaguely) sophisticated ploy to get us off our arses and vote? Albeit against a party, rather than for one.

If I were a labour spin-doctor, I'd consider something similar.

knockedgymnast · 04/06/2009 22:38

As I was coming out of the doctors' surgery earlier on this morning, there was this huge van in front of me, it wasn't until it turned the corner that I realised it had BNP on the side

Mind you in the area I live they are quite brazen and they're looking to take 23 seats around this area.

Had to laugh though, cos the windows were all blacked out and I hope he didn't think his driving was representative of british men!!

knockedgymnast · 04/06/2009 22:39

Mind you, could have been a woman!!

daftpunk · 04/06/2009 22:41

ok AA,..looks like you're not coming back..you are of course entitled to vote for who you like...that's the beauty of democracy...not sure the BNP would be that hot on democracy...so enjoy it while you can....

you were wrong to vote for them... but i'm sure deep down you know that.

KingCanuteIAm · 04/06/2009 22:55

Everyone has the right to vote of course! It is your free choice.

I just hope your husband never rapes you - or your daughters husbands rape them... after all, if you uphold the manifesto, you won't believe that is a problem will you? You won't want your daughter to get a divorce because of it - which is good as it will no longer be against the law.

TheSmallClanger · 04/06/2009 22:59

Bigotry is always unreasonable. I don't think there's anything more I can say.

clemette · 04/06/2009 23:02

How fucking depressing.
Tomorrow I will have to break the law in the classroom again. Legally I am not allowed to express any opinion on any current political party in the classroom (citizenship teaches them to look at the manifestoes and make up their own minds) yet I don't seem able to resist calling them the British Nazi Party in front of kids.
What does reassure me was seeing many of my older students at the polling station today wearing their rosettes. Even the two wearing blue made me feel proud.

AA - you mentioned their policies on schools. There is not a teaching union in this country that would support their members working for a County Council run by the BNP, so if you are successful locally your children will lose their education. Perhaps your own education didn't extend to an understanding of what the politics of hate leads to, but if you wish to be reminded perhaps you could try googling the Rwandan genocide.

messalina · 04/06/2009 23:02

Now I know Mumsnet but does not like personal abuse, but I think it would be fair to say that your decision was pig-headed and ignorant, and frankly, a waste of time. Fortunately (for democracy and all civilised people), the BNP couldn't organise an orgy in a brothel. Journalists get very excited as scare-stories about the BNP are quite sexy but really they are very much a MINORITY party and I don't think they will ever get anywhere is this country. Anyway, must let you go, Annie, as you probably have a few asylum seekers and Eastern Europeans you need to lynch.

nessus · 04/06/2009 23:04

I am pleased that my Parents wanted a brighter future for us, their children and brought us to this democratic country so YANBU to vote for them but YABU to think my lot are why the country is in a state.

I have to say that you need to really understand what your vote means and what it says about you - people like you scare me and I am afraid that you are hidden away in the schools our children go to, in the hospitals we visit, in the agencies we come in daily contact with etc

Your views, by default, are bigoted. Please don't say you are not because your vote says otherwise.

The worst thing about it is that you are the type, going by the anon posting, that will smile in my face and yet be prepared to lynch me as long as you have a pillowcase covering your face and masking your cowardice.

Agreed nessus. I fear for DS. I dont want him living in the world with people like this. They are violent, unpredictable and bigots. It will hurt "pure English" people just as much as the immigrants.

Lulubee · 04/06/2009 23:16

This thread has actually cheered me up enormously - the BNP will never gain any kind of real political clout while the vast majority of us have anything to do with it.
