Ah well mine treats the dishwasher with huge suspicion. In fact rarely touches it. Not sure why. I think he's scared of it. He will rinse things and leave them in a neat little pile next to the dishwasher. Similar with clothes and the washing machine. Very odd.

I am only person who unloads the dishwasher in this house (DD is a bit young and would prob break stuff) it's not like I live alone, they're his plates, knives and forks and pots and pans too, in his cupboards.

The same if I ask him to hand me something, say the blue casserole for instance, "where do we keep that then?" he'll ask.

Why doesn't he know?

OK I do all the cooking but surely he has eyes and can see stuff?

They're probably pretending and know exactly where everything goes but don't want to have to do the job again so are doing it badly, the swines!

This absolutely drives me mad. I say every time he unpacks the dishwasher "what has that grater done to you" - it is ALWAYS the grater he leaves out (and the lids of the pyrex casseroles)

Same here, the grater, the measuring jug and anything made of pyrex. It's like a dishwasher blind spot.

Woe betide anyone (ie me) who does not stack the dishwasher to his liking in the first place, though. Because a wine glass on the bottom shelf would be the end of the world as we know it.

He peers over the shoulder of whoever is loading the dishwasher and tells them they are doing it wrong!

lol 'dishwasher masterclass' my dad is a dishwasher martyr. However we stack the dishwasher he always comes along afterwards and sighs alot and huffs and puffs and tuts as he takes everything out and puts them back in again. At least he does it though I suppose.

my dh somehow manages to stuff our grater into the smallest available shelf space where we keep our plates. This usually results in me the next person to use it having grated fingers while trying to extract the bloody thing.
I've even shown him which cupboard it goes in, but nope.

i hate unloading the dishwasher.

PMSLBMN, WE moved our fridge and freezer into the utility room to get the washing machine and dishwasher in the kitchen.

Does anyone go shopping with their DP (oh yes the joys and delights of my life) to find that they are anal about loading the trolley, organising how it goes on the conveyor belt, ensures all similar goods are packaged into the bags correctly (god FORBID if a scouring pad gets put in with the bacon).

Oh how all this over-zealous interest disappears when you get home, have to unload all the goods into the cupboards and actually have to cook the bloody stuff, oh no, input gone.

No I keep away from the supermarket with him. If he offers to pay, he stands there holding out his card whilst the checkout operator is putting all the items through. To be fair, I buy all the food normally so its an unusual occurence, but I always feel embarrassed on his behalf.

It's hard to explain the "checkout etiquette", like not barging into someone's space to pack your own stuff if they haven't put their purse away and started to move away even though the operator has started to put your stuff through.

god, mine too (re dishwasher blindspot), and what's more, it's obviously genetic, as my stepchildren do it too!

The number of times they help out by unloading the dishwasher, then I go into the kitchen and have to put away anythig that si not a plate, glass or bowl (even cutlery they find difficult - although they always manage to find where it is if they wantto eat something )
