Surely that etiquette does not cover activity on thematically related threads?

daftpunk · 28/05/2009 12:34

what remarks?....you have my permission to bring them up if you want to...because tbh, i'm getting a bit sick of people putting 2 and 2 togther and coming up with 5864

JoPie · 28/05/2009 13:06

Well for a start there were the horribly homophobic remarks from you on the BF in public thread, but I can't quote directly from the worst of them as they were deleted by the mods due to their offensive nature, as were some of your remarks on the racist names thread I believe?

People put homophobic, misogynistic and racist overtones together, and the picture they come up with is hardly flattering.

MIFLAW · 28/05/2009 13:30

I think if we provided the BNP with a big paddling pool and a pack of chunky crayons, and bought every member a Happy Meal and a balloon, we'd be one step closer to world peace.

daftpunk · 28/05/2009 13:37

right..ok, the BF in public thread......i said i didn't think homosexual men should be bringing up children...that doesn't make me homophobic...and it's ironic that posts like that get deleted, are you only allowed to have views that are so far left they're falling off earth?..

i don't remember much of the racist name thread..only remember me saying it was all blown out of proportion...prince harry is in the army...people talk like that in the army, they are risking their lifes for freedom..i couldn't care less what they call each other.

you know i could list all the things i've been called on here..but it would be a mile long..i never complain to MNHQ..i take it all on the chin, because i'm not a tart.

MIFLAW · 28/05/2009 13:43

So, to recap ...

"i said [something directly prejudicial to gay men]...that doesn't make me homophobic"

"people [...] in the army [...] are risking their lifes for freedom [so] i couldn't care less [if they use explicitly racist terms, even if they are in positions of responsibility and even if they are members of a family of unelected authority and even if they are shown publicly doing so]"

It's amazing anyone would call you names, isn't it? Putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 4 on the nail sounds more like it.

daftpunk · 28/05/2009 13:48

he wasn't in tescos when he said it you fool...

MIFLAW · 28/05/2009 14:42

No, you're right.

He was on film which was subsequently broadcast around the world because his being Royal made it the subject of intense media interest.

Silly me to think it was in a public place like a local supermarket!

JoPie · 28/05/2009 15:02

I've seen plenty of your other comments too. How gay people are scary and abnormal, and how its just wrong, and how unmarried woman shouldn't have babies, and how its fine to call people a paki.... and in your own words;
".i just think society needs to get back to some sort of normality...where will it all end?... "
Your normality being what exactly?

MIFLAW · 28/05/2009 15:06

Getting back to the main theme ...

In what way did Le Pen "nearly become president" in France? That's like saying Eddie the Eagle nearly won a skiing medal. He ran for president - he was never a serious contender.

Incidentally, you may be right about such parties being more dangerous when they're out of sight but I don't need the BNP to be "out in the open" in order to make up my mind. They are thugs, bullies, bigots and idiots and I could make a fair guess at that just by their policies, without them getting a party political broadcast.

jumpingbeans · 28/05/2009 15:10

You really should have a soapbox to stand on, you have driven everyone way with your rantings

MIFLAW · 28/05/2009 15:11

Perhaps it would be possible - in the interests of protecting Our Boys (obligatory capitals there) - that they had the option of wearing a t-shirt with the slogan "I think being in the army gives me the right to call brown-skinned people Pakis".

Then the brown skinned troops on the other side would have a fair idea who to shoot first and fewer innocent lives would be lost.

What do you think, daftpunk? Patriotic enough for you?

MIFLAW · 28/05/2009 15:12

Who was that addressed to, jumpingbeans?

daftpunk · 28/05/2009 15:19

ok..think all that came from the B/F in public thread.....i said i wouldn't B/F in public (wow..how "right wing")... because of that comment someone asked me if i had a problem with homosexuals...single mothers..(and catholics marrying protestants, i think?)..i said i thought children thrive better with married parents..one male one female...oh my fucking god...i really should be locked up for thinking that shouldn't I !

Kimi · 28/05/2009 15:20

I think that they have as much right to a T.V advert, a leaflet, poster campaign and to express their views as the Muslim preachers inciting hate do, it is free speech and as much as I may not like what they have to say I will defend their right to say it.

I remember when the Luton thing kicked off how many people posted "well they have a right to protest" so it is laughable to see so many people upset when the boot is on thew other foot.

There are a lot of vermin out there on all sides of the equation, and like it or not they all have a right to spout their hatred.

Sad thing is if anyone express a personal belief such as gay men should not have children it is seen as an attack on the whole gay community, I have some lovely gay friends some of whom have children and some of whom think it would be so so wrong to do so. It is a personal choice as it is to have an opinion on the rights and wrongs of it.

I find women having IVF at 60 an abomination and it is my right to say so just as it is their right to do so.

Live and let live has to go all ways round, BNP are the same as all thew rest, bunch of lying, sceaming shitbags, they will win a few seats, crow a bit then go buck under their stone till next time

jumpingbeans · 28/05/2009 15:20

you miflaw

MIFLAW · 28/05/2009 15:27

Wonderful.

I have been accused of "ranting" by a far-right sympathiser.

Irony in motion.

MIFLAW · 28/05/2009 15:31

"they have as much right to a T.V advert, a leaflet, poster campaign and to express their views as the Muslim preachers inciting hate do"

Muslim preachers inciting hate have NO right to "a T.V advert, a leaflet, poster campaign" and quite right too. So why should the BNP have that right?

"BNP are the same as all the rest" - but they're not, are they? Because as well as being "lying, sceaming shitbags" and unlike any mainstream political party on the right or left they are racists, fascists, Holocaust deniers, misogynists and homophobes.

jumpingbeans · 28/05/2009 15:54

And breath........

jumpingbeans · 28/05/2009 15:56

All you are doing is standing guard on this thread, well carry on spouting... not sure anyone is listening though

MichKit · 28/05/2009 16:02

I am listening MIFLAW, and so far you've put into words what I am thinking! Good on you!

MIFLAW · 28/05/2009 16:08

"Standing guard on" - well, following.

"Spouting" - well, exercising my "freedom of speech" to criticise bigots and fascist apologists.

"not sure anyone is listening" - well, you are. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that traffic has increased on this thread in the last few hours.

Other than that, spot on.

What is it I've "spouted" during my "standing guard" that has so upset you, btw? Keen to discuss issues if that's what you're after.

MIFLAW · 28/05/2009 16:13

Thanks, Michkit.

Good to know I'm not alone ...

jumpingbeans · 28/05/2009 16:23

Sorry to upset you, as you ae obv the type of person who thinks you are the only person opposed to BNP, and has to argue the odds all the time, but i agree with what you are saying, just think you have real shit way of putting t across (imo)

MIFLAW · 28/05/2009 16:31

You haven't upset me.

I do not think I am the only person opposed to the BNP. Indeed, it is heartening to know that, even in a faceless and anonymous forum like this, the bigots are in the minority.

But I would much rather we all savaged the fascists than that we stood around thinking someone else was going to take care of it.

And thank you for your constructive criticism which is all the more refreshing for being totally uninvited.

How do you think I could have put it across better?
