3yo & 6yo out from 4pm - still out now bouncing on trampoline, playing in their front garden. Their Dad is occassionally popping out to shout that they get away from the shed

bigchris · 21/05/2009 19:14

are they yours?
don't see a problem with it myself

Twims · 21/05/2009 19:15

Whats the problem?

hullygully · 21/05/2009 19:15

That's disgusting. They should be watching telly like normal kids with a big bag of sweets. Phone the police at once.

screamingabdab · 21/05/2009 19:15

My immediate thoughts are : "I wish I had a trampoline"

What are you thinking?

Mamazon · 21/05/2009 19:16

well my 8&4 year olds are out on the trampoline from 4 till about 7:30. they come in for tea and then go straight back outside again.
i don't sit out with them but watch tehm through teh window.

why is that a problem?

Claire2009 · 21/05/2009 19:17

Mine are in bed. I say occassionally as in I've heard him shout at the boy to get away from the shed twice in 3hrs

Must be just me & my pmt thinking it a little odd.

The Parents' are smackheads and another neighbour has commented that he's wanting them away from the shed because he hides his whatever under the shed

OP posts:
Twims · 21/05/2009 19:17

Actually changed my mind contact the police they should be up chimneys earning money for their chavvy parents obviously

nellynaemates · 21/05/2009 19:17

Unless he's ignoring their cries of hunger/sleepiness I don't see any problem whatsoever.

sagacious · 21/05/2009 19:18

well its a bit of a wwyd by stealth then ...

bouncing on trampoline fine
smackheads not fine

dur

nellynaemates · 21/05/2009 19:18

FGS, perhaps if you had mentioned that in your OP you may have got a different reaction. Provocative much?

screamingabdab · 21/05/2009 19:18

Oh, I see ........

Claire2009 · 21/05/2009 19:19

Oops Brain still mushy, just settling down from kiddy time!

OP posts:
sagacious · 21/05/2009 19:20

Is WWYD the new AIBU ?

Mamazon · 21/05/2009 19:20

even if the parents are smackheads i dont see teh problem with teh children playing on a tramplone

traceybath · 21/05/2009 19:21

It is only 7.15pm though. Not everyone has their children in bed that early.

Claire2009 · 21/05/2009 19:22

But the children being out unsupervised (3 & 6yo) is ok?

I must be molly coddling my kids then!

OP posts:
Ohforfoxsake · 21/05/2009 19:25

Lovely evening, kids outside getting exercise and having fun, Dad being responsible telling them to keep away from the shed. (perhaps that's where he keeps things like tools in with his smack )

Come back at 10pm if they are still out there and your s might be justified.

Ohforfoxsake · 21/05/2009 19:29

X-post

I can see my children in our garden from our house and keep an eye on them this way. I don't consider being inside when they are outside neglectful. And my 6 yo would yell if they needed anything.

katiestar · 21/05/2009 19:30

Claire -But the children being out unsupervised (3 & 6yo) is ok?

I thought they were in their own garden ? Surely you don't think they need to be supervised playing in the garden AT 6 !!!

Claire2009 · 21/05/2009 19:34

They are in their own garden, I'd at least expect the parents' to leave the front door open?! Not shut them out..

The garden is 3-4 foot away (open gate, small path - busy road) from a fairly busy road too

OP posts:
Makeda · 21/05/2009 19:34

Are they keeping your children awake? Otherwise, good that they're enjoying the sun.

Tortington · 21/05/2009 19:35

they should be really doing a bedtime routine at this time - bath, book, bed takes an hour

psychomum5 · 21/05/2009 19:36

wish mine were out on a trampoline..........would keep them out of my way and use up their bounciness

katiestar · 21/05/2009 19:38

Who says Custardo ?

MaDuggar · 21/05/2009 19:41

cant see whats the problem at all, unless there is some un-known rule saying smackheads kids arent allowed on trampolines?
