To actually quite like Jeremy Kyle?

So I don't really watch his show but am currently being treated to a repeat on ITV2. The title is 'Jeremy Kyle confronts knife crime' and whilst he is a bit smug and annoying, I actually quite like him. And the programme is really informative.

That's it really...

...let the berating begin

Wherever on telly you go,
There is always a public chat show
There's Springer and Kyle
But after a while
They fade without big Steve Wilko

toddlerama · 21/05/2009 23:56

The lie detector is a joke isn't it? I mean, they aren't that accurate and the quivering wrecks hooked up to them just confess everything anyway after denying it in every other situation. I think he tells them it's an electric chair. What a knob. Agree with the 'after care team' comments as well. "Try to just stop arguing" had me roffling

tattifer · 21/05/2009 23:57

Toddlerama, are you calling Mr Kyle a Knob!? His show is one of the best advocates for euthanasia on telly!

toddlerama · 22/05/2009 00:03

Oh I'm calling him a knob. I'll say it again - he is most certainly knobesque. That doesn't take away from the fact that he is deliberately surrounding himself with people who make even him look good.

chegirl · 22/05/2009 00:08

Never mind HIM. What do you think of Wilko?

tattifer · 22/05/2009 00:10

Yes, what about silko wilko?

chegirl · 22/05/2009 00:11

Oh I see what youve done there. Very clever, very witty.

toddlerama · 22/05/2009 00:12

Have you ever seen Powder ? That's him. Painted orange.

toddlerama · 22/05/2009 00:14

When I was a teenager I bunked a day off school to be on Kilroy Silk. Now HE is orange!! I planned to be all clever and stuff but I was too scared to speak. He is like a luminous robot.

tattifer · 22/05/2009 00:22

But Steve is the bestest biggest orangest bloke on tv

ilovesprouts · 22/05/2009 08:30

stevo stevo

AuntieMaggie · 22/05/2009 13:11

I love JK - would definitely not kick him out of bed

And I love his show cos most of the guests are so stoopid and JK gets to do what I want to like shout at them to get a job or stop being so stoopid!

jasper · 22/05/2009 13:20

Auntiemaggie I thought I was the only one

AuntieMaggie · 22/05/2009 13:42

No not at all!

I think the fact that he tells it like it is and isn't all fluffy with the guests like some other chat shows is great!

Lets face it we'd all like to tell most of them to "sort it out"!

FairLadyRantALot · 22/05/2009 19:36

but,AuntyMaggie, he is kinda exploiting idiots, isn't he?

fourkids · 22/05/2009 20:13

the 'idiots' ring the show and ask to be 'exploited' don't they? Not sure it counts as exploitation if they go to the bother of calling (or maybe you text...?) the show, then travelling all the way to wherever it is...just not sure why they rarely seem to bother about putting some nice clothes on or doing something nice with their hair etc for their 15 minutes of fame?

FairLadyRantALot · 22/05/2009 20:20

well....I know that...but....come on, they still are exploited by clever people who know how people love to laugh at idiots people...

blueshoes · 22/05/2009 21:19

We all know what Jezza is like. So how does he get people to go on this show? They must be suckers for punishment or just thick??

blueshoes · 22/05/2009 21:21

I admire his ability to keep on top of the details of his guests' complex incestuous (metaphorically) lives. He must be a genius.

fourkids · 22/05/2009 21:22

blueshoes , someone whispers in his ear as they go along.

fourkids · 22/05/2009 21:26

you know into an ear-thingy?

They say: 'Come on now Jezza, liven it up, the audience are getting bored. He told a researcher that he caught her at it with the neighbour's great dane - ask him about that.'

and: 'Ok, Jezza you've been doing good cop for four and a half minutes now, time to start shouting in her face.'

and: 'Don't forget about the orgy in the caravan at Cromer...ask him how many of them took part and whether they all put something on the end of it.'

Stayingsunnygirl · 22/05/2009 21:29

Of course I never watch Jeremy Kyle, honest - it's the worst of trash tv .......

......but when the JK Bingo game that another poster mentioned is ready to go, I'll play!!

blueshoes · 22/05/2009 21:31

fourkids, you have opened by eyes!

blueshoes · 22/05/2009 21:31

my eyes

Ronaldinhio · 22/05/2009 21:34

I have not observed any journo work by Herr Kyle but he seems like a twonk on his morning show...it might be the genre though?

Nope I'd rather watch Jerry Springer which these days is mostly bleeps and breast flashing
Jerry,Jerry,Jerry

I like JK more than that smug cocksucker Dr Phil though
