to think Mumset is a whole lot better post-Mouldiegate?

Genuine observation here, not trying to stir anything. It just seems a lot less cliquey and bum-licky. My replies are recognised and appreciated. I hope newbies feel welcomed and that there isn't some barrier that you have to cross in order to become 'popular'.

Well?

i don't really care ddg just interested i have no clue myself apart from the few i know in real life.

Dumbledoresgirl · 21/05/2009 15:41

Ditto then

CouldYouWouldYouWithaGoat · 21/05/2009 15:43

kisses! to your

There are a few things that I am glad to say have disappeared since the mn oldies went there own way

when a new mum posts a question about weaning and gets a reply "ffs this has been done to death"

when you post a comment that someone doesnt agree with instead of reasoned or non- reasoned argument you were greeted with several posters saying mn has gone downhill these days.. its used to be a nice private chat now its like mecca bleeming bingo

I am not saying all those on the new forum posted like this but a few did and I am just glad that its now stopped

FannyWaglour · 21/05/2009 15:45

Does it matter?

Mumsnet is what is is.

I dont think you can say it is what it is because of a LACK of people. New people have joined. It is what it is, not because of people MISSING but due to the people actually HERE.

harleyd · 21/05/2009 15:45

oh dear god is this gonna turn into another 3 day arguement over who's on the list

competitivenature · 21/05/2009 15:45

Justine DO try and post on the right threads

A lot of good posters left. So did some crap ones. No idea if all/some/any of them were Moldie or just left for other reasons. Mumsnet is different, not better, not worse, just different.

There are definitely still some posters who think they are Royalty though.

MorningTownRide · 21/05/2009 15:46

There seems to be less 'farking' I have noticed.

chatta · 21/05/2009 15:47

It is not as clever as it was mores the pity.Never a dull moment before where now there are many

FannyWaglour · 21/05/2009 15:48

Justine has of course been busted as a moldie. that is what she is talking about.

tigana · 21/05/2009 15:50

chatta...there were dull moments 'before'..oooh yes there were. I remember them.

fleacircus · 21/05/2009 15:51

How odd, I didn't think I'd been away but apparently have missed an event significant enough to have 'gate' as a suffix. Now I'm wondering if I'm equally oblivious in RL...

tigana · 21/05/2009 15:53

Aitch...is the next stage in the cycle that a new wave of regulars/strong personalities etc will come to the fore and we all start over again again again... by any chance?

Ledodgy · 21/05/2009 15:53

Fleacircus, Obama is President of America now if that helps.

SoupDragon · 21/05/2009 15:53

Some people were clearly on a different MN to me.

YABU, it is no better now at all.

Dumbledoresgirl · 21/05/2009 15:54

Hang the list of who is a Moldie.

I want to know who competitivenature meant by the "some posters think they are Royalty" comment. Not to stir, but because I am genuinely as that attitude seems to me to have completely disappeared (thank God).

AitchTwoOh · 21/05/2009 15:55

precisely, tigana, and then the cycle begins again etc etc etc. i can't find the link i had before but it predicted everything so brilliantly it was untrue, even down to twiglett's pompous thread about fings not being wot they used to be etc...

CouldYouWouldYouWithaGoat · 21/05/2009 15:56

i want to know too ddg but unlike you i am stirring! (slow day at work)

Dumbledoresgirl · 21/05/2009 15:56

Oh and chatta, you have a very short memory. There were hugely boring moments on the old MN too. Remember Saturday nights anyone?

FannyWaglour · 21/05/2009 15:57

Join DOM, and I am sure you will get your copy of The List.

fleacircus · 21/05/2009 15:57

Thanks Ledodgy - that explains a lot!

CouldYouWouldYouWithaGoat · 21/05/2009 15:57

there is a list! how thrilling

Dumbledoresgirl · 21/05/2009 15:57

I don't have that excuse Goat. I am supposed to be packing to go on holiday, but even a thread on Moldiegate is preferable to that task.

CouldYouWouldYouWithaGoat · 21/05/2009 15:58

there is a list! how thrilling

chatta · 21/05/2009 15:58

There is a thread at the moment extolling the virtues of Jeremy Kyle.I rest my case that wouldn't have reached four posts in the ould days
