to think Mumset is a whole lot better post-Mouldiegate?

Genuine observation here, not trying to stir anything. It just seems a lot less cliquey and bum-licky. My replies are recognised and appreciated. I hope newbies feel welcomed and that there isn't some barrier that you have to cross in order to become 'popular'.

Well?

But why shouldn't it be secret, why does everyone have the right to know about a private group? Would it honestly have been better for it to be announced on here that some posters were starting their own forum and that it was going to be an invite only group? Do people not have the right to start their own group and only want it invovling a select group of people they want to chat with?

No idea how the existence of Moldies became common knowledge on here. TBH I missed most of the whole fiasco.

Saltire · 21/05/2009 17:31

Kathy - I have lapin's email address, I won't give it out to you, but if you CAT me yours, I can pass it on to her.

MoatCleaner · 21/05/2009 17:33

rhubarb, what's an apostrophe between friends?

Actually, I think it was Justine putting her foot in it on Twiglett's thread that started off the whole debacle...

I wonder if I have OTW against my name for that comment?!

Hassled · 21/05/2009 17:34

For what it's worth - I'm with the ever-sensible MrsMattie. I don't really give a flying fuck anymore (I did once - my ageing memory span has the benefit of making me forget the things I was once hacked off about).

I miss LittleLapin, I was glad to see the tentative re-emergence of the Fish, and would struggle to name anyone else who's left. I still enjoy and value MN.

fio I think you are proof that you can post in both places. I never understood all this only posting in one place bit

Dumbledoresgirl · 21/05/2009 17:35

I didn't know you were up the duff justabout. Congratulations.

Surely fauxes pas?

springlamb · 21/05/2009 17:37

Well, cod or joglings, or janglers, whatever you're calling yourself this hour...
I used to HATE your typing, it drove me bonkers (but that is all I hated) so I am very pleased you appear to have spent your non-MNing time taking a Pitmans course.
However, we have no 'school run dress' thread for this season over in Style & Beauty. Just mentioning it...
[Oh hi Fio, how's the trike?]

I was going to say the same thing but hesitated

BoysAreLikeDogs · 21/05/2009 17:38

oooh justabout congratulations !

Dumbledoresgirl · 21/05/2009 17:38

Oh ok justabout. I haven't missed much then!

Mercy? Brave? What did I say?

daftpunk · 21/05/2009 17:39

fiofio;

i want to apologise to you for some of my completely out of order posts...totally over the top and childish....

..i've only been here 18 months so probably haven't noticed the change so much....there are too many sex threads..i was going to start up a "clean up mumsnet" campaigne...but they seem to have died down....and some of the threads are tragically boring ( i even had to have a word with someone).....i would say that mn seems less "cliquey" now....but maybe that's just my imagination.

KingCanuteIAm · 21/05/2009 17:39

Lol, Rhubarb, did you just get cross with me? You can't do that, I am in far too good a mood to be angry with!

You have been here a similar amount of time as me I think (in fact longer - I can't quite remember)? In which case I would say that we have just had different experiences on the site. I tended to just dip in and out with the main posters so was not "attached" in the way some were, which is fair enough. I was just commenting on my experience IYSWIM.

I am sorry that people were hurt (and I have always rated you as one of the posters I liked very much) but I would feel that in any situation, the fact it was "moldies" makes no difference to me, it is the fact that people have been hurt that is important to me not how.

Lizzylou · 21/05/2009 17:39

One good thing to come out of Moldie-gate is that I made the Round-up, twice.

So actually perhaps all the interesting and intelligent posters did bugger off then?

Yep, they must have.
