to think Mumset is a whole lot better post-Mouldiegate?

Genuine observation here, not trying to stir anything. It just seems a lot less cliquey and bum-licky. My replies are recognised and appreciated. I hope newbies feel welcomed and that there isn't some barrier that you have to cross in order to become 'popular'.

Well?

Are you sure OTW doesn't stand for "On The Wine"?

MoatCleaner · 21/05/2009 16:55

did a mouldie start this thread?

Tamarto · 21/05/2009 16:55

COV - If they kept on going on about how much better the smaller meetings were, while at the open meet, it would be rather rude, no?

MrsMattie · 21/05/2009 16:57

Am I the only one who really, truly doesn't give a fuck? I don't think so.

I mean, Cod was funny (a bloody terror, but a funny one...howdy fishface!) and there were some other posters who were interesting that have now gone, but, really...I think for the vast majority of MN-ers it's a non-issue.

pagwatch · 21/05/2009 16:57

Just home and unsurprised that this kicked off but love Justines On The Wine moment.

And yes I suspect we are all going to OTW any 'interesting' threads.

I am strangely proud that I have no idea who are moldies and who are not. I am very easily pleased though.....

Instead of reporting threads, we will be inundating MNHQ with emails saying OTW!

KingCanuteIAm · 21/05/2009 17:04

Tee Hee, Justine...

By the way, it is my week this week so I am going to claim the royalty crown and I don't care who gets upset about it. [sticks tounge out]

ComeOVeneer · 21/05/2009 17:06

True Tamarto, but I don't see that happening on here either!

Kathyis6incheshigh · 21/05/2009 17:06

Moldies doesn't bother me, except when someone mentions a MNer that I like that I haven't seen around for a while and someone else says 'Didn't she go to Moldies?' Then it makes me very and a little bit that the gate is barred so I can't just pop over to say hi.

I don't object to people being on both though (hi Cod!); it means there's a route to send messages to the ones I like who have left (Is Little Lapin over there? She once mentioned having a recipe for parmesan ice cream but the Moldies thing happened before I could ask her for it.)

Rhubarb · 21/05/2009 17:08

Because, ComeOveneer, those mums I'm sure don't vote as to who, out of their friends, should be entitled into the 'exclusive club' - and neither did they try and keep it a secret.

I'm sure if some mum asked to join in they would allow her to.

But whatever, you enjoy it.

My grape was certainly OTW. It was fecking HUGE! I don't even know why it chose that moment to pop out. But after sticking ice cubes up my arse it soon popped back in again.

gibbberish · 21/05/2009 17:12

Thanks rhubs. Eating grapes atm don't you know?

Ewe · 21/05/2009 17:13

Anyone for a group hug?

BoysAreLikeDogs · 21/05/2009 17:13

Glad to see the back of Moldies, but upset that you are not 'allowed' to join 'em?

That seems a bit erm bifurcated doncha think

Much prefer the green ones, to red grapes

Rhubarb · 21/05/2009 17:15

I'd rather eat them than have them hanging out of my arse. Christmas an' all! Mind you it just laid the path for the kind of Christmas we were about to have - kids ill, dd went deaf, couldn't get out to buy pressies, dh's job threatened, mouldies, family shit going off. 'Twas all a bit bollocks really.

Perhaps that's what it was? A stray bollock that had been sucked up into my anus?

ComeOVeneer · 21/05/2009 17:17

So Rhubarb, had you been invited at the beginning to join Moldies, what would you take on the whole place be now?

Rhubarb · 21/05/2009 17:17

Bit upset that it was a huge secret and that people talked about me and decided that I wasn't good enough without me knowing. Some of those people I classed as friends. But I have HUGE respect for those who were invited and declined.

Anyway, just realised I innocently strayed into bumsex territory with my last post - sorry about that!

daftpunk · 21/05/2009 17:17

can i ask the moldies a genuine Q.
why do still post on mn..do you think it still has "something"..?.....do you enjoy it?

Rhubarb · 21/05/2009 17:20

I would think it stinks. The whole secrecy of the place, the vetoing system etc. There are Mumsnet facebook groups and so on, that's fine. But this was like a military operation and only those deemed worthy were invited. People met up, shared secrets, had heart to hearts, acted for all the world like friends, only one of them didn't think their friendship extended that far.

I would not be impressed and would say so. I would have probably outed them, hence my non-invite most likely!

That and the fact that I sometimes put an apostrophe in the wrong place!

Rhubarb · 21/05/2009 17:23

Hey ho. The whole topic is exhausted now. I'm normally a fairly level-headed, easy going person but when I think I see unfairness I do tend to go off on one.

I'll bow out of talking about mouldies now so please don't try and bait me! I'll stick to my grapes. Much nicer!
