to think Mumset is a whole lot better post-Mouldiegate?

Genuine observation here, not trying to stir anything. It just seems a lot less cliquey and bum-licky. My replies are recognised and appreciated. I hope newbies feel welcomed and that there isn't some barrier that you have to cross in order to become 'popular'.

Well?

OP posts:
OlympedeGouges · 21/05/2009 16:37

it is ticking along here fine too Fio I think.

chatta · 21/05/2009 16:38

Now this is more like it. I did wonder how long it would take for the 'poor old me I didn't get picked' lot to arrive.

Rhubarb · 21/05/2009 16:38

Oh here we go "stop bleating about it! Get over it!"

No. Why should we? Free country ain't it? You don't have to post on this thread if you don't like it.

MoatCleaner · 21/05/2009 16:39

you sounded like a real fan of the idea rhubarb, for the record

oh and watch those apostrophes, please

Rhubarb · 21/05/2009 16:39

chatta - do you not have an arse you need to crawl up love?

Rhubarb · 21/05/2009 16:41

It's a lovely idea MoatCleaner, really lovely. That's why I joined Mumsnet I recall.

One of the things I don't miss now they've gone are the pedants who used to come out in a rash if they spotted an abused apostrophe!

ComeOVeneer · 21/05/2009 16:41

I've not seen anyone bragging about it on here!

OlympedeGouges · 21/05/2009 16:41

I actually don't give a flying fuck about getting 'picked'. I was a bit hurt and shocked at the start, but real life things loomed large and put things in perspective. I think it is reasonable to be able to point out something that one finds rude without being accused of sour grapes. [collects award for best garbled syntax]

OlympedeGouges · 21/05/2009 16:42

Like a lot of Moldies btw.

MamaG · 21/05/2009 16:43

oh YAWN

random · 21/05/2009 16:44

who cares really? I got ignored then I get ignored now

MrsMcCluskey · 21/05/2009 16:45

I think it has all settled down quite nicely now.

Rhubarb · 21/05/2009 16:46

Did someone say something random?

I remember when it all kicked off I had a bloody huge grape hanging out of my arse and was very cross that my grape problem was being overlooked in the furore over Mouldies. So I posted about it in one of the threads.

Just to let you know that it did eventually go back in again!

JustineMumsnet · 21/05/2009 16:48

I feel I must explain my earlier errant behaviour on this thread. So... OTW is our very favourite new acronym at M Towers, it stands for One To Watch. I meant to report this thread to alert the duty person but pressed the post button instead (I'm sure I'll get the hang of this forum eventually). Basically I wanted to say keep an eye out in case it kicked off. Most unlikely I know but hey, deep down I'm a pessimist.

Indeed I was even more hapless than you that because I had minutes earlier reported the thread but forgotten to put OTW at the bottom and I really really wanted to use the OTW acronym so I reported it again. Except I didn't, I posted.

Anyway I then made a poor and frankly embarrassing attempt at a cover up, which fooled no-one.

Sorry.

(ps I'm aware that none of you give a monkeys about any of this but I thought it might serve as a distraction for just long enough to allow someone to start a diverting thread about Jogglers, or something.)

GivePeasAChance · 21/05/2009 16:49

Genuinely don't get all this mould crap.

The only thing that has changed around here is that we all know that this site is WATCHED. And by that I mean those journos and even those crooked government ministers.

And there is something very strange that happens to people's behaviour when they know they are being watched..............

Lulumama · 21/05/2009 16:49

the word 'fora' is just so inherently poncestastic, isn;t it?

as you were........

I shall sleep easier knowing that Rhubarb, it's been keeping me awake for months...

I do love these threads that are not trying to stir things.

I no longer care about who got picked for Moldies and who didn't. Who cares?

What I do care about though are Moldies asking us why we care or why we still care or implying this topic should now be closed.

I missed the Moldies desperately when they went in October. Now I wish they would stay away.

ComeOVeneer · 21/05/2009 16:52

What exactly is so wrong about wanting a private place to chat with your frinds and not want anyone and everyone to be party to that?

All the mums from dd's class meet up at the pub the last wednesday of the month, open invitation, yet some egularly go to each others houses for dinner etc invite only. I certainly wouldn't expect or be offended because I wasn't invited.

Saltire · 21/05/2009 16:52

Well I was tactfully ignoring you Justine as I thought you'd been drinking the cooking sherry again

BCNS · 21/05/2009 16:53

LOL rhubs ..

oldies newbies.. I am happy to drivel whoever is here..(that'll be me being an online social butterfly).

I don't personally experience a mahoosive difference.. but then I only join threads that I find interesting or that I can add too.

so.. neither in answer to AIBU.
