To have my Nipple pierced?

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 01/04/2009 16:54

Because I am stressed and don't have enough hair to have a stressy hair cut. And I already have tattoes, and other piercings........

Will be back in a bit.

My only reason not to is since I lost weight I like to wear fitted tops and it will draw attention to them. But would a good bra hide it?

perhaps a cup of tea and a slice of cake if you're stressed ??

better than self-mutilation

JodieO · 01/04/2009 16:57

Ouch is all I can think!

MayorNaze · 01/04/2009 17:00

dye your hair instead.

much less painful.

QuintessentiallyAnEmptyGrave · 01/04/2009 17:00

I am sucre as a warrioress you can think of a suitable attire so that the fabric of a bra wont get caught in your pierced nipple and "twiggle" it arousingly/painfully ever so often.

Google combat gear for women.

YANBU at all - go for it, sayeth I!!

I;'m hankering to have mine done wen i eventually finish BF

marmitebabe · 01/04/2009 17:00

ewwwww ! don't do it - its making my eyes water.
start with cup of tea and whole cake (sod the slice) and large bar of chocolate and then a long hot bath with lovely smellies and glass of good wine (or whatever)
now I'm walking away with my arms wrapped tightly around my body protecting the idea from reaching my nipples - i mean ewwwwww {cringe}

tinseltot · 01/04/2009 17:01

Apparently it can affect whether or not you are able to breasfeed (or so says my NCT Breastfeeding book!). So i guess you might want to consider this in making your decision if your family is not yet complete.

Deemented · 01/04/2009 17:01

Good god. I can actually spell. That should be I'm and when.

geordieminx · 01/04/2009 17:02

it doesnt hurt, makes your nipple ultra sensitive and IMO looks very sexy. You can obviously see it if you go bra-less - but if you normally wear t-shirt type bras then no-one will see it.

suwoo · 01/04/2009 17:02

I had mine done for about 3 years. It wasn't really visible through my bra- especially if lacy.

It hurt like buggery though (every day). I was actually relieved to have an excuse to take it out when pregnant with DS.

Would never ever get it done again.

Certainly didnt affect me breastfeeding ds for 9 months, although I did take it out when about 6 months pregnant, and put it back when I finished feeding.

YANBU imo.. it's your body

I've always had a secret lusting after a clitoral hood piercing.. not brave enough though!

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 01/04/2009 17:12

Reality - why a Mitsubishi symbol??

did you work for them?

BCNS · 01/04/2009 17:15

LOL I hope you are charging mitsubishi a fee for advertising space on your body

geordieminx · 01/04/2009 17:22

PMSL

solidgoldshaggingbunnies · 01/04/2009 17:24

Depends on your nipples. I had a nipple piercing which was disastrous, but then I have inverted nipples (always have had, hence not BF-ing).
But the great thing about a piercing is that when you get fed up with it you can just take it out.

PinkTulips · 01/04/2009 17:27

nipple piercing doesn't hurt at all if it's done right... have had my left one doen twice, once the idiot cocked it up and it hurt like hell, second time my usual piercist did it and i actually didn't realise he was done til he told me to sit up!

loved mne soooo much, had to take it out when preg with dd but will be redoing as soon as i finish feeding ds2.

ShowOfHands · 01/04/2009 17:28

DH had a pierced nipple when we met. It was always infected, blood, pus pouring out of it etc. He had to take it out.

Quite liked it, but the crusty ooziness wasn't such a turn on. He then had his ear pierced at the top a couple of times. Same oozing pus all the time. He wasn't a very good Goth. Joined the police force instead.

PinkTulips · 01/04/2009 17:30

tinseltot... that's rubbish.

i was really worried all my preg with dd that i wouldn't be able to feed from that side due to the piercing but it's been feeding constantly for 4 years now and is actually 2 out of 3 babies favourite boob

PinkTulips · 01/04/2009 17:32

pmsl at a 'He wasn't a very good Goth. Joined the police force instead'

PinkTulips · 01/04/2009 17:34

geordie... how was it getting it back in, were you able to reopen the holes yourself or did you actually go and get it re pierced?

the holes still seem to be open on mine (and oozing milk [grin) but i'm not convinced i could get a piercing through them, or that they go the whole way through for that matter!

oldraver · 01/04/2009 17:51

Right so who is gonna explain the Mitsibishi symbol then .... My cat is called Mitsi

I had mine pierced for many years and loved it. It fell out while I was ill in bed for a few days and couldnt get it back in so left is as I was TTC... I would have it done again when finished b/f, I miss it a lot even tho it did hurt to get done

Reality... I can squirt from the hole in the side of my nipple too. BTW DS2 is three and still happily feeding

BCNS.... The worst thing about THAT piercing is having the bottle to do it... took me a good 6 months to pluck up courage as I knew the piercer well. Have to say I have never regretted it

ithinkimtallandblonde · 01/04/2009 18:06

with a name like old raver i would have thought you'd know.
