I wouldn't let it go on very long, honest! Maybe one minute.

Am a mean person.

(we are ttc#1 btw, not much success to date, DH very supportive of idea)

Hmm.

Think IABU.

that sounds like a really cruel thing to do, if you already had 6 dc it might be funnier, but if you're ttc, then it's not funny

MummyCharli · 31/03/2009 17:47

I agree with Minky

llareggub · 31/03/2009 17:47

No, really. It won't be funny, just very cruel and spiteful.

blowninonabreeze · 31/03/2009 17:48

I think you know really!
From experience I know it pays to keep ttc as light hearted as possible, but I don't think I'd like being on the recieving end of this.

nametaken · 31/03/2009 17:48

tell him you're having an affair instead. That'll be really funny.

TrillianEAstraEgg · 31/03/2009 17:48

If you do, do not say that MN said it was okay.

(it could be funny, but could be very not funny)

SadMarg · 31/03/2009 17:49
  • Why????? Why on earth would you do something mean as an April fools joke? And to someone you supposedly love???????
Sorrento · 31/03/2009 17:49

What if he says oh no because I was going to leave you for your sister or brother ? You won't be laughing then will you ?

TrillianEAstraEgg · 31/03/2009 17:50

Just seen that you are TTC, so definitely falls under not funny.

April fools jokes are better if you kid that something bad has happened, then when you reveal it to be a joke the person in question is so relieved that it's not true that they (hopefully) forget to be annoyed with you.

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/03/2009 17:51

agree it is cruel

why on earth would you want to raise his hopes and then dash them?

be a bit like someone/gp saying to you - you are pregnant, you would be over joyed, then they would say - only joking

you would be furious, and i think your dh would be as well (know mine would - but then again i wouldnt say or do that to him)

guess you know your dh but ......

blissa · 31/03/2009 17:51

Don't, not if you're ttc your first, it'll probably make him really really happy and then you'd have to disappoint him. I think he'd have complete sense of humour failure tbh

Thunderduck · 31/03/2009 17:51

No. That would be utterly disgusting. Not at all amusing. I'm amazed you'd even consider it.

DP and I are also TTC and I'd never dream of doing that to him. It'd be heartbreaking for your dp when you told him it was just a joke.

rubyslippers · 31/03/2009 17:51

don't do it

i think it is very cruel

sagacious · 31/03/2009 17:56

That is possibly the worst joke
Ever
In the history of jokes

Please do not do it

mychildrenarebarmy · 31/03/2009 17:56

I would definitely say that yes, you are indeed a mean person!

VeryAnnieMary · 31/03/2009 17:56

Sorry - stupid post - just goes to show how different things look when typed up really (and how different relationships would view this - DH doesn't take anything I say seriously first time).

pokemom · 31/03/2009 17:58

AnyFucker · 31/03/2009 17:59

tell him you have gonorrhoea instead, should be good for a laugh

actually, I sympathise VAM, a case of foot very firmly in gob

SobranieCocktail · 31/03/2009 18:00

Poor VeryAnnieMary! Don't think she deserves quite such a pasting.

AnyFucker · 31/03/2009 18:00

x posted there pokemon

at least OP has admitted it would be in very poor taste

TrillianEAstraEgg · 31/03/2009 18:01

If you want some more foot-in-gob examples (ones that actually happened)
