Probably Miss Judgey pants here. But surely if he's capably feeding himself with a spoon, it shouldn't be a crappy jar of baby food! And on a bus while mum talking on her mobile phone!

Guessing he was a bout 20 months as older than my ds but prob not 2. Was a bit shocked at the self feeding on the bus,and crap nature of it....

....flame away.....
I'm ready for it..

justneedsomesleep - pleasem please indulge my question about the mother..

psychomum5 · 23/03/2009 19:41

riven, I too judge really (don;t tell anyone), but as I have said teens, I can do my AIBU with them as teens are the most judgemental species on the planet (bar certain MNers of course).

tomanykidstoname · 23/03/2009 19:41

my name is as it is because when i registered i typed in something else which wasnt available and this was the option it came up with but thank you so much too everyone of you who has judged my name

littleducks · 23/03/2009 19:41

i blw-ed dd, on mostly organic lovingly cooked home food

when i took dd to the john lewis cafe they give you a free jar of hipp organic food with every main meal purchased, so as my meal was £££ and i could justify taking the babyfood as i now had a baby i would take a 'banana and yoghurt breakfast jar' and it might come in useful

of course dd adored it, saw it as an absolute treat and fed herself from the jar scraping the sides clean

pispirispis · 23/03/2009 19:41

screamingabdab that sounds like fun! What larks! Am now psml imagining how shocked op and everyone on the bus would have been if the 20mo had done that!! Jar of baby food can therefore be very dangerous...

screamingabdab · 23/03/2009 19:42

Too true Riven, except on uncontroversial topics like "AIBU, or are puppies cute?"

DSM · 23/03/2009 19:42

Oh FFS tomanykidstoname, no one has judged your name. It is an incorrect spelling.

Is all.

Mintyy · 23/03/2009 19:42

FAQ - where did I say it was a cardinal sin? I just said the four things combined would make me . That I would be a "little bit shocked".

I was being honest, not jumping on the bandwagon of competitive laissez-faire parenting (sorry not terribly articulate can't think of the words to describe exactly what I mean) displayed on this thread.

It makes very amusing reading. The op posts to say she is shocked but the posters replying have worked themselves up into a positive frenzy of outrage that she has dared to be a little bit judgey about someone else's parenting.

Thats all.

We always took a jar of baby food with us if we knew there was any chance we might not be able to get a good healthy meal somewhere for DD1 - right up until 2yrs old (she was small and bald so we didn't get people like you passing judgement). There's only so many packed lunches she could cope with. The big 14m+?? jars - salmon and spinach I think the favourite was. She ate more baby jars as a toddler than she ever did as a baby. Surely thats better than a McDonalds? What's the problem really?

We always fed her though, but only to avoid fishy-smelling mess and to keep up the pretence that she was just a big-ish baby. Can't see why thats such an issue though.

hmmm more to the point did she get a good price plan need to change mine

giantkatestacks · 23/03/2009 19:44

ahhh is is the jar itself? Like a Health and Safety thing? Was the toddler wearing any kind of eye protection? Was there any danger of old ladies being spattered? [licks pencil and gets out fresh notebook]

tomanykidstoname · 23/03/2009 19:44

i have had lots of comments tonight telling me to change it when i didnt choose it in the first place it was just the nearest option to what i wanted

Northernlurker · 23/03/2009 19:46

How about 'toomanykidstomention' - has that gone?

DSM · 23/03/2009 19:46

tomanykidstoname - you can choose anything you like as your name. If toomanykidstoname was taken, why don't you have something else?

Just a suggestion.

screamingabdab · 23/03/2009 19:47

Agreed Mintyy. I t has got a bit venomous

(I have been trying to lighten the tone with my humorous asides, because I am uncomfortable with confrontation)

TooManyKidsToName · 23/03/2009 19:47

Oh dear, Tomanykidstoname told a porky pie, i thought i smelt a rat when she said it 'suggested' her name, i have never been 'suggested' a name when the one i wanted was taken

ummadam · 23/03/2009 19:48

My 15month old feeds himself yoghurt with a spoon. He's been ill of week with a sore throat and we are back on jars (stage 2 ) as he won't eat anything lumpy.

psychomum5 · 23/03/2009 19:48

mintyy, you might be shocked, but you didn;t start a thread and then ask to be flamed, and then about being flamed........

DSM · 23/03/2009 19:49

Hmm, good point there TooManyKidsToName, and well done on the grammatically accurate and aesthetically pleasing name.

It does not give you suggestions. This is not an email account.

screamingabdab · 23/03/2009 19:49

Riven Hope she gets well soon

psychomum5 · 23/03/2009 19:49
