Probably Miss Judgey pants here. But surely if he's capably feeding himself with a spoon, it shouldn't be a crappy jar of baby food! And on a bus while mum talking on her mobile phone!

Guessing he was a bout 20 months as older than my ds but prob not 2. Was a bit shocked at the self feeding on the bus,and crap nature of it....

....flame away.....
I'm ready for it..

Riven Maybe sand, it was a desert after all

When you have only your PFB and are knee deep in the middle of the facist baby era (you must give birth this way, breastfeed baby for precisely x months, BLW, type of pram, type of music group, yoga...yadee ya ya ya) it is easy to take to your high horse about these little issues.

When this era passes, usually when you have more to your life than your PFB (e.g. another child!) you realise what a judgmental moron you've been

Judging another mother is asking for it I think...bad karma etc

oh quick my ds must be really neglected as are my 3 other dc .let me go tell them

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 23/03/2009 19:26

'maybe everyone needs too start doing more double takes and being more bothered about what they see and there might not be so much happening too kids'

Oh come on. It was a jar of food on a bus. Your doom-laden post makes it sound akin to abuse.

DSM · 23/03/2009 19:27

Thats what I meant, FAQ. Surprising that people are able to sit up when the weight of worrying about every babies eating habits is so heavy on their shoulders.

God knows how they sleep at night.

Ronaldinhio · 23/03/2009 19:27

Good post Debs

sachertorte · 23/03/2009 19:27

GET A GRIP! Take a reality check!

Eating on a bus or in a car is not terrible or unusual!

Eating from a jar is not terrible or unusual either!

Parents do use their phone when in the presence of children!

None of this is any sign of child abuse or child neglect. Toomanykids you seem to have lost any sense of reality.

Phoenix4725 · 23/03/2009 19:28

riven its where ever needs , that or major tantrum oh he has them to and just belucky my d smight flicked spoon around ,being good boy that he is and sharing

wobbegong · 23/03/2009 19:28

Totally confused.

Is it the bus thing that is a problem? Would you say the same if a child was eating in a car? I eat on a bus, not usually but if we are running late. My child eats on a bus, if she shouts loud enough. Not ideal but normal.

Or maybe it's the baby food jar thing that's the problem. Maybe it's a one off. At least it's likely to be healthier than other snacks you see toddlers eating on the bus like crisps, choc, dreaded sausage rolls etc. It is even healthier than dried fruit doncha know. I really don't see the problem! A typical AIBU thread that I just don't understand!

justneedsomesleep · 23/03/2009 19:29

debs40 - i do not have a pfb thank you very much - have 2 children and am not caught up in a facist baby era...
But thank you everyone for making your own assumptions about me, as I may have done originally. But you're just as bad.

toomanykids - thank you.

I've fed my baby on the bus and had no idea that anyone could possibly disapprove. Sometimes we go out for the day and stay out longer than we intended, and he's too hungry to wait till we get home. He's only little. I think very unreasonable to judge for this.

But...I quite like the text speak...is funny.

Stark adder, your baby is different to a todler that can easily hold a sandwich

psychomum5 · 23/03/2009 19:31

justneedsomesleep, you asked to be flamed, so stop with all your 'woe is me' posts.

you are being a judgy MNer tonight, and you are basing your judgement becuase you have been fortunate enough not to find yourself in that situation.

my advice love, would be to start driving, as then your senses won't be insulted by watching someone parent differently to you!!!

debs40 · 23/03/2009 19:32

Ronaldinhio ta

wobbegong point is that mother did not act the way one is supposed to act according to the 'yummy muummy guide to bringing up one's own gorgeous one the right way'

The fact that some people might do things differently does not compute...computer says no.. and all that

Phoenix4725 · 23/03/2009 19:32

lol feel like that about my older dc some days

Mintyy · 23/03/2009 19:32

I have never seen a 20 month old feeding itself, with a spoon, from a jar of baby food on a bus.

If I had seen this today I would have been a little bit shocked too, OP.

It is not the jar (afaic), nor is it the fact that its on the bus (per se), nor is it really the baby feeding itself (I'm sure some babies insist on it), but somehow, all three combined, Mum on the phone talking about something else, would make me very . Tbh.

But you, me and to(sic)manykidstoname appear very much to be in the minority on this thread. Oh well.

FAQinglovely · 23/03/2009 19:32

do I have the only toddler that pulls sandwiches to pieces and chucks the bits of bread down until they've finished the filling??

As DS3 + bus = hungry child because it's all on the floor
