Probably Miss Judgey pants here. But surely if he's capably feeding himself with a spoon, it shouldn't be a crappy jar of baby food! And on a bus while mum talking on her mobile phone!

Guessing he was a bout 20 months as older than my ds but prob not 2. Was a bit shocked at the self feeding on the bus,and crap nature of it....

....flame away.....
I'm ready for it..

no proof then of the amzing uteri???

and there was me looking forward to being able to boast that I know of a medical miracle and I have seen proof in all its colourful glory

JemL · 24/03/2009 13:05

Am paranoid now that loads of threads exist started by people who have seen me out and about with DS. Perhaps I should search for "Am I being unreasonable to think that the red faced woman wrestling an upside down toddler on a moving escalator whilst he maintains a death grip on a tube of pringles is a really crap mum?"

Will behave much better in public in future and carry dried fruit at all times

DSM · 24/03/2009 13:10

I am still waiting for it psycho.

Come on uteriian woman, I want to see!

DSM · 24/03/2009 14:48

Come on tomanykids... where is this proof we were promised?

PlumpRumpSoggyBaps · 24/03/2009 16:29

I've just eaten two Mr Toms peanut brittle bars because I'm so worked up awaiting proof.

Is all tomanykidstoname's fault.

minesacheeseandpicklesandwich · 24/03/2009 18:07

Can't believe I'm still here... marking is sooo boring and it's taking me so much longer coz I keep checking up on this thread!!

Soggy, have a sandwich... much better for you

chegirl · 24/03/2009 18:17

Good lordy lord are you lot still here? Do you not have lives to go to (she says smugly because she has just done her first day's paid work in 5 years )

Do you think if I come on my mate will come back and call me Miss goody two shoes chegirl again?

Heloooooo! Are you there?

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 24/03/2009 18:22

Ooh Che

Did you enjoy work? I have just done the opposite - gone on ML after working full-time for 4 years after having DD2 and I am very very very very very very very bored.....

chegirl · 24/03/2009 18:25

Grumpy thankyou very much for asking. It was fine. It will be a while before I do the interesting bits but everyone seemed v.nice. I cant wait to get my hands on the kids (in a wholesome way). I am now a portage worker which is a lovely job.

You need a hobby. Have you thought about knitting?

Hi Riven
Some LAs will only employ teachers, nurses or nursery nurses, social workers etc. I am none of those things. I have lots of experience with children with additional needs, I have a SEN child and I cared for my very sick DD. I have also studied child development, working with familes and other social stuff. I have worked in disability for a long time. So I guess I have a mix of life and professional experience. I have had to complete a portage training course and will be shadowing for 6 months.

I feel very luck

minesacheeseandpicklesandwich · 24/03/2009 18:54

What is a portage worker? Sorry, am I being thick?

chegirl · 24/03/2009 18:54

LUCKY

Luckily good spelling is not essential.

chegirl · 24/03/2009 18:57

NO you are not being thick. Not that many people know what it is. The name comes from the town where it was developed.

Portage workers visit children with significant disabilities in their own homes. They help parents break down activities into very small steps to help the child develop new skills. The service is for preschool children.

HellHathNoFury · 24/03/2009 19:09

Well I just got back from mcdonalds where my son had a happy meal. I didn't watch him the whole time and I might have checked my phone. Flame away!

HellHathNoFury · 24/03/2009 19:10

And he's 21 months old. EEK!

Che

Your job sounds fulfilling and rewarding, yay for you! Not many people can claim that about their job

Hobbies - I bake a lot and talk to the dog? The last thing I knitted was a doll at primary school I think. I may have to start though........

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 24/03/2009 19:22

ps.

Mizzidee is being, well, Mizzidee on the following:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/725692-AIBU-to-be-sad-and-shocked-by-this-article-part

HellHathNoFury · 24/03/2009 19:29

Riven yes!
And they are asking what I look like and OH MY GOD he even stood on the chair at one point and WOE BETIDE I let him drink Tropicana through a straw and at one point I even stared at the Monopoly things to see if I won anything...and it was an apple pie!!

I think Social Services need to come and have a stern word with me.

Honestly OP. I know this thread is getting old now but I just stumbled on it and you know what, that kid might have been going home for haddock and courgette risotto.
You just don't know.

I do things sometimes for an easy life, mcdonalds occasionally being one of them. And I used jars sometimes. Big deal. You cannot take a snapshot of someones life and judge them for it. If the kid looked happy, fed, then so what.

At the top of AYBU threads there is a notice saying 'don't post here if you don't want people to disagree with you' so don't whine about being flamed either.
