Moondog - that's the reporter that said those things - just pointing out what I should imagine were some pretty obvious things to the naked eye

The same article says that

"Louise is not inclined to blame the government for her difficulties. She is grateful for the money she gets every week and doesn't think her life would be much enhanced by increased payments."

"it is all the immigrants fault- they are everything that is wrong with society, the reason for unemployment, recession, rape, murder, robberies and drugs "
I hope your not implying I said this.

Ok, now it's just obvious you're bs-ing, Chellesgirl. Better than being so ignorant, I guess.

thought you were a self employed nanny?

OP posts:
Chellesgirl · 21/03/2009 23:17

Im stuck on benefits becuase

  1. after having dd, i tried to go back to my job after maternity leave and they said I couldnt as they had no room for me.
  2. two months later my DP was forced out of his job because there was no work for him, although they gave his spot to someone else. Hes a doorman/security gaurd.
we are in £2000 of rent arrears on old property,£ 400 council tax arrears, £5800 in debt, and living off £ 118 a week.
FAQinglovely · 21/03/2009 23:19

and why look for jobs in the Birmingham area if you don't live there

OP posts:
Chellesgirl · 21/03/2009 23:20

i am a self employed nanny. But no work for me. I get offered jobs that are 100 miles away. Unfortunatley too far if you ask me. And as for that, im classed as not working an only have to tell jobcentre how many hrs I do if I do work and that will be deducted.

Chellesgirl · 21/03/2009 23:20

FAQinglovely · 21/03/2009 23:21

I'm actually really impressed with your qualifications at 21 , nanny, qualified TA, is there anything you don't know about

OP posts:
Chellesgirl · 21/03/2009 23:23

Yes, when I was preggers i lost my v.well paid job as a nanny and administrator for big firm, Nannied for the boss. They then made me redundant. I went back to a place where I used to work when I was younger and I managed to get a job there, but on nil hrs and because I hadnt been working for more than 3 months before I had dd, they had every right to not take me back.

Chellesgirl · 21/03/2009 23:24

Chellesgirl · 21/03/2009 23:25

As well as all my dance qualifications,
admistrative skills, the fact I co own another business with DP, but had no revenue in what so ever at mo.

Chellesgirl · 21/03/2009 23:26

Dur to recession no one can be bothred to service thier cars!

Alambil · 22/03/2009 03:07

The Yarls Wood website list of "facilities" fail to mention the separation of "another" breast feeding mother from her FOUR WEEK old son and one year old daughter and the fact that children are suffering emotional damage..... not QUITE the holiday camp the website makes out, I think you'll agree.

Want to know more? Ask UrbanDryad when she returns - she works closely with campaigners to alter these heinous practises.

I am sorry - haven't followed the thread at all, but I felt the need to put the reality about Yarls Wood across.

Nighbynight · 22/03/2009 07:00

Just wanted to say, there are some brilliant posts on these threads.

I particularly loved BalloonSlayer's (I think) classification of Beadles and Marie Antoinettes.
