aibu to think twitter is narcissism of the highest order, taking what is essentially the 'what you are doing' line from facebook and expecting anyone to give a shit.

OP posts:
Ledodgy · 16/02/2009 13:32

Lol DP it probably isn't but I was waiting for someone to ask me if I am not sad and have a life why am I on here? so I pre-empted the question.

daftpunk · 16/02/2009 13:40

right..enough of this, i'm off to hang glide naked into my local tesco while watching jeremy kyle on my mobile...cos i'm nuts man..and like sooooo mad and so not boring!....one day i might even get on FB and really start living!

VinegarTits · 16/02/2009 13:50

See you decided not to reply to my last post though DP, what is your excuse for wasting time on MN?

daftpunk · 16/02/2009 14:31

wasn't ignoring you VT.....what is my excuse for wasting time on mumsnet?....same as yours i guess.

VinegarTits · 16/02/2009 14:37

But i told you i use MN/FB/twitter as a way of switching off after using my brain at work, and you said i was SAD/wasting my life online for that, so you must be contradicting yourself again?

EricL · 16/02/2009 14:43

I also think it is sad/timewasting to get angry with random people on the net whilst talking about Twitter

daftpunk · 16/02/2009 14:45

no, i'm not contradicting myself VT...you are just like everyone else on here...your attitude to me is so wrong...you call me ignorant....how many people have called me that?....well i'm not ignorant thank you!

why do you need so many social networking sites VT?.....i only use mumsnet because i'm a mother & theres alot of good advice on here...it's not replacing my social life.

VinegarTits · 16/02/2009 15:05

'yes but VT, i'm not living my life on-line like you are...real people watch the telly and go to tesco you know!....i think it's very sad to spend alot of time on facebook, you ob have nothing else to do.'

I called you ignorant because you know nothing about me, what i do or how i spend my time, yet your assuming i spend my life online and obv. have nothing better to do

You contradicted yourself because you said you use MN for the same reasons as me, but in this quote you called me sad/living my life online for using social networking, isnt that we are doing on MN, a way of interacting with people, sharing experiences, hearing about peoples lifes, giving opinions

To me, checking MN everyday is the same as checking FB, actually coming on MN takes up a lot more of my time than FB does

VinegarTits · 16/02/2009 15:09

And FB is not replacing my social life, i spent last weekend in Belfast with 14 of my closest friends, if thats not having a social life then i dont know what is

I check FB like i check my hotmail, to see if i have any messages, is checking emails regarded as having no social life theses days?

ahfeckit · 16/02/2009 15:09

ok guys this is getting a bit petty now. let people air their views. DP was only giving her opinion, I'm sure there was no malice there or anything to take personally.
what a nitpicking people seem to do on here.

daftpunk · 16/02/2009 15:21

listen VT, i like you....but i'm entitled to my opinion...this thread was titled "twitter is shit"...that's why i came on here...because i think it is.

FB is ok if your 18....if your my age (35) i think it's sad....i don't know how mothers have the time for it tbh...i admit i probably spend too much time on here, i couldn't imagin fitting in FB or anything else....you must be sacrificing something?

tbh, i think the whole internet thing is taking up too much time for alot of people.....maybe we all need to get a life.

daftpunk · 16/02/2009 15:23

ahfeckit....thank you....not sure if you know me...but i'm the only person on mn not allowed to have an opinion.

harleyd · 16/02/2009 15:24

ah punky are you in trouble again

vt...well what did ya think of belfast

compo · 16/02/2009 15:25

you don't need to check fb to see if you have any messages, it would all be on your hotmail....

VinegarTits · 16/02/2009 15:27

Same here DP, i too am entitled to my opinion too, but i wouldnt go round telling people who have opposite opinons to me that they are 'sad', each to their own, i sacrafice as much time to FB as i do to checking emails, and like i said i do it in work so im not sacrificing my family time, or neglecting my duties as a mother, i am entitled to breaks in work, i can either do it by going outside for a fag (i dont smoke) or checking my FB/emails while i have a brew

maybe if you life and let live a little more you might not get so annoyed by FB

VinegarTits · 16/02/2009 15:30

Harleyd is was good, we had a great laugh and the guiness was lovely

daftpunk · 16/02/2009 15:35

live and live?.....i'm the most laid back person i know.

i've had enough of people picking on me...think i'll flounce!

harleyd · 16/02/2009 15:36

no you will not!!!

harleyd · 16/02/2009 15:37

yes i can vouch for the guinness think i had a keg of it on saturday..

wotulookinat · 16/02/2009 15:41

VinegarTits · 16/02/2009 15:42
ahfeckit · 16/02/2009 15:58

DP. dont know anyone on this forum. have to say the internet is good for escapism, and alot of us (including myself!) probably do spend more time online than is really necessary.

I too was also replying to the OP, as she did have a negative viewpoint on the topic of Twitter, so I felt it is also something that I had to comment on.

ahfeckit · 16/02/2009 15:59

ha, DP, I'm also not allowed to have an opinion (I am usually going against the grain in most topics) either, so that makes the two of us! lol.

daftpunk · 16/02/2009 16:07

well,....you know me now

ahfeckit · 16/02/2009 16:26
