SO?????

It isn't an HA house. You are not on benefits.

Can't you see how bloody insulting you are being to those who do live in HA homes, or are on benefits??

littleboyblue · 22/12/2008 19:53

Can I just ask, if you wanted to have a row about claiming benefits, why not do just that instead of waffling on about HA properties, because it seems now that it's not about what your house looks like but about how fantastically wonderful you think you are to be able to afford it all yourself. So is this actually another "you are a scumbag if you claim benefits thread"?

AnarchyInAManger · 22/12/2008 19:56

What have benefit claimants got to do with what your house looks like?

You have a tenuous grip on the point here.

Whats your beef exactly?

People mistaking your house for an HA property?

People claiming benefits?

People bashing people who claim benefits?

The fact you don't get any benefits?

needmorecoffee · 22/12/2008 19:56

Nope. Why should I. I am on benefits cos DH gave up work, his career, to be a carer for me and dd. I am proud he would do such a thing and pleased to live in a country that helps its disabled members.
And why would I care what strangers thought?
I never hide it either.

ShyBaby · 22/12/2008 19:56

Im off this thread. So much nastiness for no good reason yet again [bored].

I'll have a lovely non judgmental Christmas with my kids in our homely little council abode. Hope yours is a good one spottyzebra.

I live in a HA house, I love it. We pay full rent which is higher than our previous council flat.
I don't really care if people think I am claiming benefits or not. Whats it got to do with anyone else?

flixx · 22/12/2008 19:58

spottyoldzebra, TBH I don't think you house looks nice enough to be a HA. I live in a lovely, new housing assosiation house but yours looks a bit grotty

AnarchyInAManger · 22/12/2008 19:58

Tell you what, come live in our house. Its on a naice street in a naice area and sure as hell doesn't look like an HA house.

Mainly 'cos it an elderly victorian terrace that is falling down around our ears and the landlady refuses to do any work on it.

Then tell me you'd be ashamed to have an HA house.

You privileged numpty.

kid · 22/12/2008 19:58

LOL @ flixx

IllegallyBrunette · 22/12/2008 19:59

Lol Flixx

If everyone who lives in non ha housing are like you spotty then I am glad I live where I do. What a nasty piece of work you are.

needmorecoffee · 22/12/2008 19:59

why do you care if people look down on those of us on benefits and why would you care if they mistakenly thought you were on benefits? Would you honestly want to know any sort who looked down on other poeple? Would you want them to be friends?
I wouldn't.

flixx · 22/12/2008 19:59

oh a by the way spottyzebra "you are a scum bag even though you don't claim benefits"

needmorecoffee · 22/12/2008 20:01

actually, come to think of it, people do look down on me. Thats cos I'm in a wheelchair
But then I get to look at people's butts. And some are rather nice....

georgimama · 22/12/2008 20:02

"So is this actually another "you are a scumbag if you claim benefits thread"?

noonki · 22/12/2008 20:03

Not only have you lost all command of English, you can't speak geek either. Why are you making multiple thread links? As has been pointed out before, directing people to other people who think like you doesn't make you right.

needmorecoffee · 22/12/2008 20:09

I'm losing track here too.

LucyEllensmummy · 22/12/2008 20:11

The only sensible thing you can do is move and never talk to your cousin again. I mean, she obviously wanted a way to feel superior to you! Its not your fault if you can't afford to live in a house that doesn't look HAish, but we are nice here on Mnet - we wont judge you for it.

My parents lived in a council house all their lives. So i guess they were subsidised then? So yes, they pay alot less in rent that most mortgages today, so i guess they are better off??? WRONG - like other people who rent, their rent goes up with inflation and they will never see a return on their money. My Dad worked and so did my mother, they never claimed benefits. I am sure if they had bought a property instead of renting they would have paid for it twenty times over, no, thirty times over in the amount of rent they paid over the years. So not REALLY sure where you are coming from. In the long run, my parents paid more so who is subsidising who?

Do try to be dignified, it is very easy to spot someone who is backed into a corner by their own bullshit - the language degenerates and things are said like "you lot are full of shit"

Happy Xmas

ShyBaby · 22/12/2008 20:11

Oh I used to be just like spotty Illegally....until I ended up in a council house...karma and all that.

(Although I don't suppose my Barratt shoebox was much to shout about either)

Oh I said I was off this one didn't I?

No self control at all!
