Twat.

AnarchyInAManger · 22/12/2008 19:10

Wow.

Some people really don't know how lucky they are, do they. There's you thinking its an insult for your house to be considered an HA property...

And there's me, who would love a house like that for myself and my DD to live in, instead of the one we have which has unsafe electrics, no bath, no heating, and single glazing in rotten frames. I really wouldn't give a monkey's what anyone thought of the look of it.

pagwatch · 22/12/2008 19:10

My mum lives in a beautiful h/a house.
I think you are being really dim.

misdee · 22/12/2008 19:12

252 rent?

mine is £95 a week now

pamelat · 22/12/2008 19:13

I dont know what a housing association house looks like, are they council houses?

Its very cheap to buy that house on the link!
What a steal.

BouncingTinsel · 22/12/2008 19:13

YABU - my mum lives in a Housing Association house and it is lovely and utterly immaculate. And she pays full rent.
What the hell did you think she meant?

compo · 22/12/2008 19:15

lol
first ou expect taxes to pay for your childcare
then you look down your nose at people who live in council houses

ShyBaby · 22/12/2008 19:27

Gosh Compo, dont tell her it looks like a council house, she'll have nightmares!

We're one step down from HA

pamelat · 22/12/2008 19:29

council houses (in my experience) are simply bigger and warmer!

nickytinseltimes · 22/12/2008 19:30

Anything i could have said has already been better expressed.

Very snobby attitude.

spottyoldzebra · 22/12/2008 19:30

i'm not saying that ha are not nice houses.
i'm saying that we are paying our own way.
250 a month is very subsidised.

and don't make me laugh saying the only time people on here complain about others on benefits is if it is a fraudulent claim.
your really talking shit now.
people are constantly told on here day after day to get off benefits.

£250 a month? Where do you live?!

We pay £1000 per month mortgage for a 3 bed in Cambs. £250 per month must be subsidised surely?

Gavlaar · 22/12/2008 19:35

Ours is ex council, and it's massive! Not one of those new little boxes!

spottyoldzebra · 22/12/2008 19:35

heres one

thats just one but heres fucking millions of them on here, try searching benefits

tiredemma · 22/12/2008 19:35

HA HA HA.

Excuse me whilst I just PISS MYSELF LAUGHING.

pagwatch · 22/12/2008 19:36

actually you are tryingto suggest that because you don't live in a HA house you are somehow tainted bythe suggestion.
Which means you think it is beneath you.
But having read your last post I suspect few things are.

Oh yes, Total Social Housing written all over it - but then at least you can fill the garden with OTT chrimbo deccies and not feel out of place.

Do you like your house? Why did you buy it? Are you really that shallow bothered?

I don't personally go for modern houses but that is not because of any housing association associations!!!

spottyoldzebra · 22/12/2008 19:38

i am saying we are paying our own way, we are not subsidised

PersephoneSnape · 22/12/2008 19:40

why would you ever care what other people thought about where you live? inutterable snob.

2AdventSevenfoldShoes · 22/12/2008 19:40

£225 is not an average HA rent
the op is a stirrer imo

ShyBaby · 22/12/2008 19:40

I know at least two people who had mortgaged houses and had to claim benefits for a while. Better avoid private looking houses too.
