what does a HA house look like them - does it glow in the dark or something?

My (MN) friend lives in a shared equity flat - I guess thats probably HA. Can't say I'venoticedanyone picketing the entrance shouting "unclean! unclean!" and they look very similar to the non HA flats on the samedevelopment but less poncey luxurious.

ShyBaby · 24/12/2008 00:00

Ive got 15 kids with 15 different dads...costs me a lot at Christmas in plastic tat.

TLESinChristmasStockings · 24/12/2008 00:02

Quatro

apparently those who are subsidised are lower class!!! alas i am in those ranks rofl

Kew look closer the HA houses have an invisible HA on the front

KewcumbersRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 24/12/2008 00:02

I have one child but never even met the father (I win!)

retiredgoth2 · 24/12/2008 00:03

I have had Pinot Grigio, so will answer these questions unbidden.

Own my home? Yes
Subsidised? CTC, CB, Mrs Goth's NHS Pension, Widowed Parent's Allowance..... so yes. Heavily.
Mortgage? Nominal only
Au Pair? Thought about it. Decided not to bother as would be more trouble than help.
Loadsa kids? Yep. Four.

...so have a foot in every camp really....

TLESinChristmasStockings · 24/12/2008 00:03

6 of my 23 kids

KewcumbersRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 24/12/2008 00:03

what does subsidised mean - I am subsidised to the extent that I get child benefit, free education and healthcare etc or do I net that off against tax I pay.

Though frankly with the hospital costs of me alone this year I'm probably still subsidised...

ShyBaby · 24/12/2008 00:04

Bugger , I always lose.

TLESinChristmasStockings · 24/12/2008 00:04

Kew ohhhhhh are you called Mary?

Retired OMG you will be flamed by the OP fancy belonging to the "subsidised crew"

KewcumbersRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 24/12/2008 00:05

my mum grew up in a council house with her janitor father and cleaner mother.

Classiest woman I know - I aspire to be like her.

TLESinChristmasStockings · 24/12/2008 00:05

Kew one poster said she paid her full rent £350 i think it was and the OP went into one telling her she was subsidised as she was in HA housing and didn't own her own property??????

retiredgoth2 · 24/12/2008 00:06

...heavily subsidised so I am relegated to Great Unwashed.

Sigh.

....even though my Aspergers 11 year old once declared loudly to his brothers in ASDA 'This shop is for the lower orders. Dad says so. Don't you Dad?'

KewcumbersRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 24/12/2008 00:06

TLESinChristmasStockings · 24/12/2008 00:19

Right found it but

Who is the handsome bloke?????

ShyBaby · 24/12/2008 00:21

The love of my life....what's your problem?

TinselBaublesMistletoe · 24/12/2008 00:24

"you are not meant to say it looks like any house as it could be mistaken for a HA house then...you are meant to reassure her it is a fucking normal house cut above the rest"

She should come and look at the houses by me, I live in a HA estate in the middle of a posh area (lots of blue plaques) and some of these almost mansion like buildings actually belong to the HA! I think a lot of houses look HA compared to some of ours that really are!

"what does subsidised mean"

I've asked that and not got an answer yet.

TLESinChristmasStockings · 24/12/2008 00:26

Tinsel, we are yet to find that out...

ShyBaby · 24/12/2008 00:27

lol!
