Sptty

Who are you talking to?. Why are you assuming everyone who thinks you are a knob is in a HA house.
I am a home owner and still think you are a knob.

I am an equal oppertunity knob spotter.

PingpingsatonSantasface · 23/12/2008 14:46

I hope you have lived in your lovely (so not HA) looking house for about a year, spotty.
If anyone deserves negative equity....

if you could read, you would know we've been in that house 15 years
we have 10 years left on the morgage

The difference between paying rent to a HA (or council) and to a private landlord is that the money only goes on services and none into someone else's pocket. In fact technically (and a lot of RSL Residents don't realise this) we don't pay rent, we pay service charges and technically the Residents are home owners. I would far rather I knew that every penny I pay goes towards the service I recieve, that I know if I have a problem in the middle of the night there is someone on the phone to send someone out same night than to know I'm lining someone's pocket who doesn't really care about me and won't be answering the phone in the middle of the night arranging for a workman to come out.

The only money that has been subsidised into my property is from grants that are available to all home owners that the HA have used to bring the properties into line with the 2010 agenda. It's all money you could apply for too if you want to...

PMSL Pagwatch your post made my day Thank you

PingpingsatonSantasface · 23/12/2008 14:48

WELL SAID HERBIETEA

psychohohohoho · 23/12/2008 14:48

Ok, so anyone who insults you automatically must be being subbed or on benefits.

you clearly have such a warped perception of reality that I am honestly quite stunned that anyone could employ you or allow you a mortgage.

no, wait, you don;t NEED a mortgage, you live under a bridge and your employ is to scare people off said bridge.

hercules1 · 23/12/2008 14:48

Zebra - not all mortgages are 25 years....

O and my friend lives in HA housing and its the most beautiful house I have been in much nicer than your £125,000 house.

i know i've already said that.
i know someone with a really fab ha house, i am meerly pointing out they are subbed.

Well one of my friends pays a lot of money for her council flat because she works and lives in South London. You really need to look up what a council tenent and HA tenent is as not all people that have a council house are on benefits. It seems you have been watching to much Shameless

EachPeachPearMum · 23/12/2008 14:53

and some people do just get mortgages for 10 years.

zoggs · 23/12/2008 14:53

I work for a housing association. Most new build rented properties are of a much higher quality than equivalent privately purchased new builds as the HA has much more sway, ie spending £millions rather than an individual buying just one plot. HAs will not put up with shoddy workmanship/cowboy builders and are now very exacting in their standards.

I live on a small estate of mixed stock. It is not easy to tell which is which although most of the rented properties do not have a garage. Big deal!

psychohohohoho · 23/12/2008 14:53

oooh.....trumped you then.

part of our mortgage will be paid off in 3yrs.

stick that is your pipe and smoke it.

I am clearly not being subbed!

EachPeachPearMum · 23/12/2008 14:53

But not ALL of it is it dear?

PingpingsatonSantasface · 23/12/2008 14:54

I would love a council flat as a single person my rent is £1275 a month thats for a 3 bedroom flat its unfortunate that there is none available So I have to work as many hours as possible to live.

I haven't read this whole thread, only the 1st and last pages and I am .

SOZ I live in subsided housing as my DH is in the RAF - he and many others put their lives on the line for the safety of dickheads like you - is that all right by your standards?

err he chooses to do that, it's his choice.
it;s liek fire fighters oh we put our necks in the line, so what? you choose to.

I would rather be homeless than have an attitude like you TBH.
well good luck with that

spotty seriously are you for real??

Ok i privately rent since ive not long moved back from my house in spain we rent purely because we moved back in march brought a pub and with the housing market at the moment you must be MAD if you are HAPPY with having a mortgage at the moment!!!!!

we pay £600 a month rent for a 4 bedroom house and are happy with that we owned an ex-council house before we moved and thanks to ex-council houses that is how we have money in the bank, thanks to grandparents having them and then buying them GOD BLESS HA!!!

another point is.....
do you recieve child benefit?
do you recieve tax credits?
do you recieve additional childcare assistance?

if you answered YES to ANY one of the questions YOU RECEIVE financial help YOU ARE SUBSIDES ED THROUGH LIFE!!!!!! (oh the shame!!)

Yes i claim benefits does that make me scum?? coz my husband works 60 hours a week i have 3 children and i own 2 businesses in my book that makes me successful! REGARDLESS to the fact that i RENT and receive benefits!!

so yes you own your own home bully for you but there are people out there that arent able to do that for variuos reasons and while i dont condone people playing the system ect people that do legally claim the benefits they are entitled to (and im sure you do) are not scum!

so heres to you, me and everyone being "subsidised" as you so hate to be "accused" of!!!

GEEZ!!!!
