To wonder why people think they are so above others?

I work in customer service, both over the telephone and in person. Most of our customers are wealthy people, but the majority are lovely. The other day a lady came in and she had the most gorgeous Radley handbag. She must have seen my checking it out, because as she turned to leave, she muttered 'this is a case of you can look, but you can't touch. on your wage, this kind of thing stays directly in the shop window, darling' and flounced off. I was nothing but my nice, smiling self to her so where that came from, I don't know!

oh god! I once worked in bookselling and when I told a woman her book would take 10 days to arrive she said 'you'd think with all the unemployed people in the country they could form a chain up the M4 and get it to me tomorrow'

sounds like a wanker type who thinks a stupid expensive handbag gives you status. When really its a waste of money cos a £5 bag will do the same job.

I have a Radley purse, its pink, you can look at that anytime, touch it too if you wanted, there is only coppers in it though

funny to be so smug over a Radley bag, they're not even that expensive!
I used to work for a well known baby store (the expensive version of M.Care) and people would be unbelievably rude.
One woman called me a dog because I couldn't get a car set to fit in her fucking stupid little car. I told her to go fuck herself.... funnily enough she didn't complain.
I must have been a bit menstrual
Another guy quite happily watched me push his trolley out to his car.... when I was 6 months pregnant. It wasn't heavy but thats not the point is it?

Also - when I worked in Hampstead we would regularly get customers who would phone and ask if we could hold a book for them, then say 'if I pull up outside could you run out with the book as I don't want to get a parking ticket' ... erm... no! do what normal people do and park where you're supposed to and wal to the shop you idiot! We even had one person who tried to get us to pay for the parking ticket she got while illegally parking so she could come in to collect something! idiots!

I can't remember who said it, someone on't telly this week but he said he didn't care if people looked down on him as long as they weren't expecting him to look up. I thought that was pretty good. Personally I would have told her to go fuck herself... possibly under my breath!

Lola - definitely a snob. Probably an insecure one coz her DH is shagging the cleaner (who is younger and sexier than her!).
