... its bound to be packed, after all, the world and his wife'll be there. What happens if we "just turn up" and there's nowhere to stay? Where does he think I'm going to give birth, in a stable?

I don't know about the goodlooking guy in white, but there have been no less than three (ahem) older gentlemen asking after you Mary. I think they might show up after the birth- what are you going to tell the CSA?

PortlySackSantaInAdvent · 19/12/2008 11:29

Why don't you wait on a name and call him the thing you first utter when he pops out.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 19/12/2008 11:39

I'm not sure "thank fcuk for that!" is an appropriate name TBH.

BitOfFunUnderTheMistletoe · 19/12/2008 11:42

My daughter is called Flamin' Nora- you sound like you know you're having a boy though?

BitOfFunUnderTheMistletoe · 19/12/2008 11:44

Its just that I seem to remember a thread where you said it was revealed that a son would be born unto you (the 12 week scan, I presume?)

If you're in the area my DH is a shepherd and he's on nights at the moment. I'm sure he said there were some fancy inns in ... ooh what's that town David was born in? Bethel, Bethnal Green, Bethampshire..?

dsrplus8 · 19/12/2008 12:52

snowballs......whos not been doing her pelvic floor excercises then???? tut tut

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 19/12/2008 12:53

I would suggest you hire a valley cushion from your local NCT because riding that donkey home is going to be a real pain in the ass.

I am too slow/old/pregnant for humorous threads. I thought this was some dig about Mumsnetters going to the Portland.

As DD (4) said on receiving her religious advent calendar from my sister 'Look there's baby Jesus, he's everywhere at the moment, he's in my play too!'. I have not repeated this to my Christian sister.

Dear Mary, I don't want to be harsh, but considering all you've put the poor man through, I think yo could be a little more grateful that he stood by you.
That didn't happen by itself, you know, it needed divine intervention to get him to that point. I think the poor man did his best and you are just a little bit unreasonable to expect all mod cons organised in advance by email.

starbear · 19/12/2008 21:59

Has the twinkle gone out of your marriage?

MaryBeWaiting · 19/12/2008 22:21

Argh! In case you wonder where I've been, I took the donkey for its MOT, it needed doing before we set off ... apparently the brakes needed some new shoes... nobody told me donkeys wore shoes!

DO, just put it down to pregnancy hormones

changer22 - is the Portland anywhere near Bethlehem? Are THEY likely to have a room free?

starbear - Brian sounds good, what do other MNers think?

Califrau, I'm a bit worried that if the presents are left by the door they could go missing - I had something delivered by Amazon this morning while I was having the donkey MOT'd - and that was whipped away before I could blink!

Anyway, its been a tiring day, I'm going to rest my bump - I've got one of those giant pregnancy cushions - shame it won't fit on the donkey!

Another reason for the presents not to be left outside while I rest - the shepherds might FLEECE me!
