I'm due to give birth next week and DH hasn't booked us a hotel room...

... its bound to be packed, after all, the world and his wife'll be there. What happens if we "just turn up" and there's nowhere to stay? Where does he think I'm going to give birth, in a stable?

ByThePowerOfBaileys, do you take Myrrh?

Have you thought of names yet? You want something normal, so that he doesn't get laughed at when he starts nursery.

nappyzonehasastroppytoddler · 18/12/2008 22:00

perhaps you should write a gift list - you know - gold, francinsense (i knwo spelt way different) and a great big fat bottle of eutonox. Angel music in the background may help relax you....

Who needs a hotel room when you have rich visitors!

MaryBeWaiting · 18/12/2008 22:01

Car seat, we've forgotten the car seat...

What do MNers think of the name Herod? Does that sound suitably kingly?

I'm usually the last person to repeat a rumour, but some of the girls in the village are saying that your DH is not the father! In fact they were a bit surprised to find you were up the duff in the first place! I have namechanged by the way.

hohohoIdolikeTurkey · 18/12/2008 22:02

You might want to take a crib mattress in case you find yourself using a manger. I'm sure straw is a SIDS risk factor...

feelingbitfestive · 18/12/2008 22:02

Ooh no, no, no. He'll be laughed at! Something sensible and classic like William or James

squeaver · 18/12/2008 22:02

Yes I saw that on Faithbook too AAG...

MaryBeWaiting · 18/12/2008 22:02

AAGabriel, didn't I meet you about 9 months ago....?

themulledmanneredjanitor · 18/12/2008 22:03

f you get any myhrr it will come in handy for the baby massage classes

goodasgoldfrankincenceandmyrhh · 18/12/2008 22:03

Will it really be such a problem if your baby doesn't have a crib for his bed?

Never mind the star, watch out for cattle lowing that might wake up the baby.

nappyzonehasastroppytoddler · 18/12/2008 22:04

Mary can i interest you in some reuseable nappies?

feelingbitfestive · 18/12/2008 22:04

AAG - give it up. You started this rumour!

AAGabriel · 18/12/2008 22:04

Mary - what's your surname? Us MNers will find something that suits I'm sure.

MaryBeWaiting · 18/12/2008 22:04

Would it be too naff if I have a baby shower?

OP posts:
hohohoIdolikeTurkey · 18/12/2008 22:04

We had to get on all fours and moo in NCT class. I imagine lowing cattle would be the perfect incentive to birthing in that way.

MaryBeWaiting · 18/12/2008 22:05

Personally I think AAG is a troll...

Are you going to have a stable-birth? I wanted one of those but my consultant refused. If yours has objections, write him this letter:

"Dear Sir,

I wish to give birth in a stable, with the ass and oxen standing by. It is written in prophesy, and God himself has decreed it."

He should agree then.

Oh- I did have a donkey in attendance when I gave birth...Oh no, that was DH. Oh well, I hope you get the birth experience you are hoping for. Just make sure they test the baby for any frankinsence allergies in the first week

thebrain · 18/12/2008 22:05

Just don't call it Damien...

feelingbitfestive · 18/12/2008 22:05

No GOGFAM - according to the song yet to be written - this little lord 'no crying he makes'.

Habbibu · 18/12/2008 22:05

Have you thought of taking a holiday after the baby's born? I hear Egypt's lovely this time of year. Overland not recommended, though, I'd definitely go by air.

Lemontart · 18/12/2008 22:06

have you packed your birthing ball? would hate for you to have to improvise in somewhere like a stable...

MaryBeWaiting · 18/12/2008 22:06

So is giving birth in a stable "natural" childbirth, or is that taking it a bit far?
