Strange behaviour from DH

DH has always liked horses. His mother and his aunt had a riding stable. At great expense, he keeps two horses and rides every evening and most weekends. The garage is full of tack and muddy boots. On our honeymoon, four years ago, we went to a dude ranch in Wyoming. We have pictures of horses all over the house.

The trouble is that he now wants to bring a bridle and a riding crop into bed.

AIBU to have had quite enough of horses?

Soh, I would be happier if my husband loved horses. He likes deep sea fishing.

Mhamai · 20/11/2008 23:48

Or the Horse whisperer? or Brokeback mountain? or Black beauty?

Flynnie · 20/11/2008 23:48

Its a shame he doesn't want to be a horse..who doesn't want a stallion in the bedroom?

Sickofhorses · 20/11/2008 23:50

To be honest, I think there's an element of erectile dysfunction without horses in the bedroom. Well not actually physically present IYSWIM, but there in picture/dvd etc. Not a stallion unless there's a mare in the bed ...

I always thought it was you, Mhamai. Just something about your general demeanour that always led me to think, on wild, windy nights when the spirit is restless ... Mhamai's got that horse.

Tell me ... did he taste good?

CharCharGabor · 20/11/2008 23:51

I am pmsling here. Sorry SOH, that bay mare sounds like a gallop to no good.

Flynnie · 20/11/2008 23:52

some men think that all women are, are broodmares.

Mhamai · 20/11/2008 23:53

Who said he's dead desi? Who says I'm really Mhamai? Straight from the horses mouth!

wehaveallbeenthere · 20/11/2008 23:55

After reading this thread I'm laughing so hard I'm going hoarse (horse). Okay...bad pun time is over. I'm out.

NorthernLurker · 20/11/2008 23:56

Speaking of puns I never knew there was so much you could do with a horse.

Of course - that may be what the op's dh is thinking too....

Shergarwongowongowon · 20/11/2008 23:56

All horsey questions this way please. I'm out of hiding for a short time only.

Desiderata · 20/11/2008 23:57

Oh, don't be coltish, now

Anyway, off to bed in a moment. Don't have nightmares.

Sickofhorses · 20/11/2008 23:57

Is the only way of getting any attention from anyone to behave like a horse?

Have you no sympathy for the fact that my little DS is being groomed into horse fetishism?

Now look SOH there's no need to kick off!

Shergarwongowongowon · 21/11/2008 00:01

Sorry SOH but you fell at the first fence after your first post. Hands down to a great thread though, it could be named for the MN classic.

NorthernLurker · 21/11/2008 00:01

I realise you want to buck the trend but sometimes we just have to bridle our anger and rein things in.

Sickofhorses · 21/11/2008 00:01

Off to bed now all. DH is getting restive.

Thanks for your support.

Shergarwongowongowon · 21/11/2008 00:04

Suppose your riding off into the sunset now? Ah well bed down and goodnight from me filly and goodnight from me.

UnquietDad · 21/11/2008 00:07

"Stable relationship" wins my vote for best comment.
