a couple of mums in the group had knitted dresses on and knee hign high heel boots.
not exactley preactical for playying with toddlers is it?

one of them had her hair all tonged curly and full make up.

i wonder how long it takes them to get ready/made up in the am.

Why thank you you lovely ladies with taste. It is super comfortable although i have tucked in my knickers on occasions. I heart french connection for super comfy dresses, perfect for toddlers

When DS was first born and I was very unhappy dressing up nicely once a week to go to toddler group was really important to me. Now I have my mojo back Im (usually) nicely dressed and made up with matching jewelery each day. i even wear make up to muck out my horses and have done for the past 20 years so am not going to change now. Its just how I feel better able to face the day.

If Im having a bad morning, (been up all night with DS, problems with horses, cat been sick, spilt milk everywhere etc) and arrive at toddler group without makeup.. then everyone says "oh my god, are you all right? You look...really ill"
hhhmmm.

Make an effort if going shopping, out for the evening and sometimes wear makeup during the day when the mood takes me For toddler group I would say high heels are bloody dangerous, having seen my friends dds foot having been trod on by a stilletto at a wedding. Stupid wearing high heels IMHO and dresses are not practical when scrabbling around playing with babies/toddlers.

YANBU about the attire for a toddler group but people can look good and be practical

Oh please, high heels are hardly dangerous, if they were my children would have had alot of nasty accidents.
Novelty bloody slippers at christmas cause a very high number of accidents according to statistics would you have nobody wear those around children either.
I bet you think tarmac shoukld be removed from gardens and rubber surfaces put down just in case their is an accident.

When mine were young sleep deprivation prevented caring, as toddlers they had usually broken all my makeup by drawing on walls with it and now I do take care of my appearance, personal pride for me but not over the top.

I try and fail.

I must say I was rather put off my coffee and digestive biscuit this morning at music class when it was time to sit on the floor and be a train and the lady opposite was dressed in a rather tight short skirt and flashed me a very unwelcome view of her ladybits......

EXStepfordwife · 14/11/2008 14:12

Just thinking... wait till school then, the playground is full of mums who do bother and dont and those that go right over the top. Its a right laugh......

EXStepfordwife · 14/11/2008 14:16

I have my can be arsed days to make the effort and my cant be arsed days where, when late for school, I will have my PJs on under a funky coat say... Master of disguise me...
