I never said I'd fancy hoverpodman! I wouldn't!

Now this is confusing

many outward signs and symbols of authoritative masculinity (in the male-stripper idiom), totally emasculated by mode of transport

(I know he's not really fanciable even without the hoverpod, so don't start)

ahundredtimes · 30/09/2008 22:00

rofl.

He is our thread idol.

lolol.

He's got it all really hasn't he? Male stripper outfit included. I wonder if he can work the washing machine?

mrsruffallo · 30/09/2008 22:01

Whatever rocks your boat, bat

LittleBella · 30/09/2008 22:01

I'd still do 'im

(What is that vehicle, btw)

ahundredtimes · 30/09/2008 22:02

[waits for UQD to pipe up in angry voice and trill about how that man is in NO WAY emasculated by his transport]

luckylady74 · 30/09/2008 22:05

What about a man who has the kind of lifestyle/job in which cars are sent for him and all transport is organised?

onebatmother · 30/09/2008 22:09

it's a segway. I love the branding.

Now. For the man with nothing to prove, (and no-one to prove it to). Comes. The Segway.

NotCod · 30/09/2008 22:09

GodzillasBumcheek · 30/09/2008 22:10

Can i also add to my earlier list that DH has no 'paunch' whatsoever at 32 (and lots of his friends have, so i don't think he's too young), and grows pefect manly stubble with no patchiness. Very sexy IMO. But i am a bit biased.

onebatmother · 30/09/2008 22:10

YES we're still going. You reek of g&t.

ahundredtimes · 30/09/2008 22:11

It's been MARVELLOUS.

I have set you AIBU extension and acceleration work.

GodzillasBumcheek · 30/09/2008 22:11

Oi you started it!

mumeeee · 30/09/2008 22:11

YABU.Why does a man have to be able to drive?

NotCod · 30/09/2008 22:12

was wathign c jamie

am orf ot bed now.

OP posts:
zazen · 30/09/2008 22:14

My Dh can't drive, and yes it's a PITA when we're on hols as I have to drive if we hire a car etc.. so it's not much of a hol for me.

I'm better at map reading also, and I'm better at DIY - which means that I have to fix the still broken whattsit after Dh has 'mended' it.
I'm also the one who deals with all the builders and plumbers as I used to help out my dad whenever we had any works going on, and I'm know what's what. I keep expecting to grow huge muscles, overalls and a checkered lumberjack shirt.

I totally get what you are syaing OP... but my DH is almost legally blind and is actually dangerous when on the road - his bunny hops attempts are funny.

I think a man who can't ride a horse is just a plain old wuss though.

And UQD - do you mean the train

onebatmother · 30/09/2008 22:14

"What about a man who has the kind of lifestyle/job in which cars are sent for him and all transport is organised?"

like a day-centre man?

ahundredtimes · 30/09/2008 22:15

lolol

stop being funny OBM. I have to go to bed.

Threadwworm · 30/09/2008 22:16

My dh is pretty poor sighted too. And the image of him peering through the windscreen at the steeering wheel of our Nissan like Mr Magoo is not seeming sexy at all. Perhaps I should forbid him from learning.

zazen · 30/09/2008 22:17

Blimey Godzillas, from walking everywhere my Dh has no paunch at 42!! Still wears the same size jeans as he wore at 18.

So does anyone share my John Wayne obsession?

Botbot · 30/09/2008 22:17

I'm reading Pies and Prejudice at the mo, and was intrigued to find that Stuart Maconie can't drive and has spent all his years as a journalist travelling by train. I find this quite interesting and - yes - just a little bit attractive. Partly because I bleeding hate driving myself (though I can do it, I'd really rather not) so it makes him a bit of a kindred spirit.

Top book by the way. Especially if you're northern.

ahundredtimes · 30/09/2008 22:18

Am still lolol at day centre man.

NotCod · 30/09/2008 22:19

it is a good book

or rather it WAS

now i knwo he is a fully emasulacte network reailer it will be wrenched from my shelves andburned. Krystal nach style

OP posts:
LittleBella · 30/09/2008 22:20

Did you know there's no female equivalent of the verb "emasculate"?

De-feminise doesn't mean the same thing, does it?

NotCod · 30/09/2008 22:21

this has included class. sex, looks, celebrity. envrinomental isssues( but narrowly skirted sherehzade giodlsmoth)

in fat everythign

btu no mention of poor food choices.

pr linen trousers, eton mess or anti pasti

luckylady74 · 30/09/2008 22:21

lol OBM - I was thinking about my elder brother who directs films and it seems to be part of the deal. I have always thought it was pathetic he didn't learn to drive so I will pass the 'day centre man' comment on at the earliest opportunity
