To think mums shouldn't do drop at nursery in their pyjamas?

I know they may have been up all night with a newborn, depressed, etc etc.

But really, I do wonder when I see a flashy subaru 4x4, child immaculately dressed and the mother has an expensive coat on, over pj's. How long does it take to put a pair of jeans on ffs?

I shit you not, I once saw one of the offenders in pj's and heels.

Or is this some high fashion thing I just don't get?

fuck off geepers

MrsBick · 11/09/2008 18:39

i feel sorry for the kids who know mummy's going back to bed for a nap while they are at school

Geepers · 11/09/2008 18:41

why? you don't think you should be judged for being so lazy or disorganised?

To me it screams council house, lazy housewife who doesn't give a shit how stupid she looks. Plenty of them round here, trust me.

You don't have to agree. You obviously don't or you would take the 0.5 seconds it takes to put on some proper clothing in the morning.

Quattrocento · 11/09/2008 18:41

I'm trying to work out why I don't know anyone who goes to school in their nightclothes. How come you all know people who do this? What's the demographic here?

CostaRicanCod · 11/09/2008 18:42

i kind of agree iht geepers tbh
alhtough was in pjs when a policeman rang me the other day for a warrant

it was (ahem) 5 30 pm
( but i had got soaked in rain)

juneybean · 11/09/2008 18:42

The nursery I supply in had a kid show up in jammies, the other NNs were a bit shocked as well.

pjs is shit.
get dressed oyu old slags

Geepers · 11/09/2008 18:43

I have never seen anyone where I live do it thank God, or I wouldn't be able to stop myself from staring open-mouthed at her.

Where my friend lives it is rife. Women think nothing of popping over the shop in their bed clothes and slippers.

I don't think it is anything to do with demographics Quattro, the woman I saw was coming out of a very exclusive gated apartment block. It is just weird attention seeking behaviour imo.

daftpunk · 11/09/2008 18:51

no, weird attention seeking behaviour would be doing the school run naked.

ScottishMummy · 11/09/2008 18:55

heels and pyjamas was it peggy mitchell?never mind tittering will it catch on? heels and PJ's Nice not round my way love

Podrick · 11/09/2008 18:57

They do it out of charity so that those who have managed to get dressed can feel good about themselves no matter how rubbish their style is etc

these folk are SAINTS

At DS's nursery they have someone collect the children from their cars so the parents don't even need to get out and be seen in public.

I honestly don't know if anyone does try it, but my biggest worry would be having an accident and being caught out.

What about younger DC's still being in THEIR pjs?

ForeverOptimistic · 11/09/2008 19:00

To bet fair to you Ruby, brown velour bottoms could pass as lounge wear, so you are let off this time.

Crocs however are inexcusable.

Lauriefairycake · 11/09/2008 19:02

I don't know about anyone else but if someone stared openmouthed at me in an outfit and judged me lazy, chavvy and slovenly................

I would wear it more

ForeverOptimistic · 11/09/2008 19:03

be not bet.

My PJs were nice designer ones. They weren't Pimark shiny polyester, all damp round the crotch with a few drops of wee or the remnants of the morning's quicky.

I have also been out blackberrying in the evening in my PJs but was only seen by some sheep (we live in a field).

god who cares what anyone else wears,

I barely notice what I wear let alone another parent,

what a load of judgemental bollocks

BreeVanderCampLGJ · 11/09/2008 19:30

It is sooooo common.

Ruby you had an excuse, but over and above that, slatterns the lot of you.
