I'm bloody sick of makeover shows. It all looks far too much like hard work to me. I find myself looking at the before ladies, thinking "Mmm, thats a nice comfy looking jumper/warm fleece" and then they get all gussied up and it just looks hard.

Wouldn't it be a step forward to

-not wax/or shave anything
-except have all my hair shaved and buy a wig instead
-have wash and wear work clothes that I will wear till they fall to bits, when I will replace them with same.
-never wear make up
-never wear contacts
-have all my teeth pulled and replace them with falsers

I put this to my DH from time to time and he just says"I have no opinion, because I know it will be wrong". You have an opinion don't you? Tell me!

yanbu! The head shaving may be a bit high maintenance though- I would just let it grow.

Cicatrice · 29/08/2008 21:13

But Mrs Thatcher used to do it apparently, and she only slept 4 hours a night. If she doesn't have time to do her hair I definitely don't

at Thatcher bombshell!

fizzbuzz · 29/08/2008 21:34

Woah...just a minute..are you saying Thatch shaved her head and wore a wig!!!!!!

Christ, the mind boggles at the tought of a skinhead Thatch!!!! (mind you the politics are quite similar)

Nappyzoneneedssleep · 29/08/2008 21:36

wasnt that just on spitting image?

beanieb · 29/08/2008 21:37

I do what I can when I can be bothered and I am ok with that.

Happy medium. No need to go to extremes.

Would hate to be high maintenence.

Cicatrice · 29/08/2008 21:37

Oh don't tell me it isn't true! I'm basing my five year plan on this.

I've long since wished for a wig. I bloody hate my hair, Never wear make up. Shave arm pits, legs haphazard. Do have to wear contacts tho, as need sunglasses, very light sensitive eyes. pain.

I'm with you on this one, def.

Kewcumber · 29/08/2008 21:42

-"not wax/or shave anything" tick, sounds heaven
-"except have all my hair shaved and buy a wig instead" cross, sounds itchy
-"have wash and wear work clothes that I will wear till they fall to bits, when I will replace them with same" tick sounds feasible (and cheap)
-"never wear make up" tick (rarely do anyway - no-one seems to notice)
-"never wear contacts" tick, too fiddly
-"have all my teeth pulled and replace them with falsers" CROSS CROSS CROSS - OUCH! OUCH! OUCH!

I am 5 stone heaver now then on my wedding day, I shop at matalan not prada now and I last went to the hairdresser in January, I think I have flobbed out big time....oh hang on I have a 29 year old toy boy (37 me ) so not all bad

Cicatrice · 29/08/2008 22:01

Well, maybe I just need to let my hair grow so I can always put it up/plait it. But long grey hair is a bit witchy. I don't know if I'm ready for witchy.

Today I dyed my hair and got the false nails on...... help me please

onebatmother · 29/08/2008 23:23

very short grey hair is chic, however. A pixie cut. Do you have the bones, though? That is the question.

MadameOvary · 29/08/2008 23:33

YANBU
I dont shave my legs
I dont wax anything
I get a haircut when my lovely hairdresser friend can do it (once a year on average)

I pluck my eyebrows when I get a minute but the older I get the better I think my bushy eyebrows look, I just cant seem to care!

Never get or do mani or pedi.

As long as I am clean and my hair is washed, I'm happy basically.

beanieb · 29/08/2008 23:57

I don't understand false nails, unless you're a goth.

chipmonkey · 30/08/2008 00:12

If I had very short grey hair, I'd just look like a potato with a fungus growing on it.

chipmonkey · 30/08/2008 00:16

Bubble, I always had ds1 dressed in perfectly matching outfits and was very fussy about what he ate. Ds4 is on my lap in a pale blue cardigan and a pair of lime-green and yellow trousers that used to belong to ds2 and I imagine he'll be weaned on to chips!

chipmonkey · 30/08/2008 00:17

Sorry,wrong thread!

ravenAK · 30/08/2008 00:27

beanieb, I am a goth & I don't understand false nails

My nails are the one bit of me I do maintain...

-not wax/or shave anything - quick swipe of armpits with razor in bath. Hairy legs I'm fine with
-except have all my hair shaved and buy a wig instead - itchy. I just have mine cut once a decade, whether I need it or not...
-have wash and wear work clothes that I will wear till they fall to bits, when I will replace them with same - yep.
-never wear make up - fun, going out make up, but not daytime
-never wear contacts - I'd miss the peripheral vision
-have all my teeth pulled and replace them with falsers - just avoid dentists, until lumps of tooth actually start falling out...

How very peculiar of her.

Is that something that only happens to females, or should I warn dh?

Ronaldinhio · 30/08/2008 00:37

We went away for the BH and I got to do all thise things again as we were sans squiddlies.
I must say it was nice to actually vainly spend some time focussed purely on me.
But in an ordinary week I'm all for being a shower dodger

Kimi · 30/08/2008 00:40

Beanie, I am a biter

Ronaldinhio · 30/08/2008 00:49

Are they big porno nails?
