..... well, your DH doesn't need to worry - DS is def. his!!!

Now, to be fair, DS does look like DH but would people have seriously questioned his parentage if he didn't????

This isn't just one random comment - at least half a dozen people have commented on it when I sent the photos out...

What sort of woman do they think I am????

SO, AIBU to be ticked off about it or is it just something people say????

I used to get this lots when ds1 was little
I asked my aunty whether she meant I was a tart
that shut her up

TheMagnificent7 · 19/07/2008 15:54

The point is that the poster is taking the magnificently selfish position that this is about her and whether she is faithful, when in fact it's a nice pleasant jokey comment about the baby looking like the Dad. Nothing more. YABU. Very.

New acronyms today - GOY (get over yourself) and SOHF (sense of humour failure)

youcannotbeserious · 19/07/2008 16:00

shit. this is really bad.

DS is now ugly, has an ugly father and a mother who is both promiscuous and has no sense of humour.

Sorry. Freudian slip.

It was a jokey comment intended to raise a smile, not be jumped all over by miserable people spoiling for a fight.

It wasn't rude, it was very very funny [more funny faces to denote things I can't express with normal words like funny-bone-missing posters]

again

Mag7 - Joke appreciated here!!!

this whole thread was a bit of a laugh. (honest!! )

It wasn't very very funny, but it was funny enough!!!

desperatehousewifetoo · 19/07/2008 16:08

Someone from my sister's nct group (many years ago) used to get people walking up to her when they saw her out and say ''oh, what a beautiful............buggy''!

Apparently, it happened more than a few times. Now that would be worrying

itati · 19/07/2008 16:10

Sorry if I don't think saying someone has an ugly baby is funny.

And having read some of M7 previous comments, I was assuming she waws being serious.

Off out now.

Bye!!!

youngbutnotdumb · 19/07/2008 16:15

People say this to me all the time but in a jokey way I've been with mypartner since nI was 14 and most people who say it know this. I wouldn't and don't take any offence to it it's true I've said it myself!

Magnificent 7 just talks crap if someone thinks you have an ugly baby they don't say anything. Then again maybe Magnificent's DP is a minger PSML.

youcannotbeserious · 19/07/2008 16:30

Oh, FFS...

I don't really think anyone questions DS's paternity and I don't ever think DS is ugly (he looks like me too!!!! )

Why, on earth, would I think Mag7 was being serious?????

Actually, sometimes I really do think DS is ugly. Sometimes, I think he looks like ET!!! Doesn't mean anything, I still love him with every ounce of my being, I'm just rational enough to know that sometimes he's not lovely looking.

OP posts:
youcannotbeserious · 19/07/2008 16:32

Ahh.. who am I kidding?

My DS is perfect and far better looking than any other baby ever!!

youngbutnotdumb · 19/07/2008 16:38

YCBS

What a thing too say, you'll have sum numpty arguing that point now

I thought my DS had the biggest nose when he was born but he appears to have grown into it now. Terrible I know but I nevber got the rush of love most beautiful child on the planet thingy.

solo · 19/07/2008 16:38

My Dd now looks like me and is very white skinned, fair haired, blue eyed etc(I'm olive skinned and dark hair eyes), her daddy is mixed race black. I see people giving us all the once over all the time. They look at beautiful Dd, then at Dp, then at me, then back to Dp and Dd. Very annoying.

youcannotbeserious · 19/07/2008 16:44

YBND - my first words when DS was born were: He doesn't have my nose (sob sob) I'm so happy (sob sob)

Seriously, I was OTM that he had DH's nose (my is truly horrid!!!)

Babies are ugly.... I remember feeding DS in the hospital is a sort of half light and he really looked like some sort of alien.

He's still gorgeous though and he's adored beyond words....

OP posts:
youngbutnotdumb · 19/07/2008 16:49

YCBS- Am so glad someone agrees with me on this (well someone is honest enough to admit it

My DS has a carbon copy of his dads nose (as well as eyes, mouth, build and expression)

DP hasa jewish type nose no offence but YKWIM and I have a bumpy roman type nose, poor child had no chance.

But again is totally loved and cared for and is cute now he's grown into it.

lulumama · 19/07/2008 17:45

jewish type nose as a jewish person, with a 'normal' nose, i find that offensive. not all jewish people have big noses .

lulumama · 19/07/2008 17:48

also, saying no offence, does not make your commetn any less offensive to me

schneebly · 19/07/2008 17:55

youngbutnotdumb - what a dumb comment to make! I cannot believe your post. Imagine you had said "DP has a typical back person's nose" Would that be ok? I think not. Please think before you type and not share any of your sweeping predjudiced generalisations here.

TheMagnificent7 · 19/07/2008 18:00

I love this post. Doesn't take a second for someone to kick off does it ? Glad Ititi had to go to the FunnyBone shop.

I have to vote for the icon to denote a previous comment that was patronising or condescending.

I think YBND didn't choose her words sensitively, but can't you see th irony of using emoticons without noses to make your point ?

LMFAO

YCBS, i'm so pleased you got what I meant

lulumama · 19/07/2008 18:02

give me a break, if she said it about any other race or religion or anything, i would have said something

causal , ill thought out and 'i didn;t meant it' comments like that tick me off and i won;t tolerate it

i speak for myslef, and i am not kicking off, i am pointing out her comment offended me.

you coming back and making out i am wrong to be offended is not very edifying

lulumama · 19/07/2008 18:03

glad you find casual racism something to LYFAO at.

here follows non ironic use of icons
