it annoys me that it's applied so often on mumsnet

yep, actually, i do think that icon is a tricky one, in all seriousness. every so often people come along to lobby for it to be changed to look less imperious, but for some reason it's never happened.

re the name, M7, the result of the unhappy confluence of daleks on tv and headlice at dd's nursery...

well, what are the elephants doing in his pyjamas, sim?

Sim43 · 17/07/2008 14:50

Search me?

When I mentioned that I am a neutral in this I am not implying that everyone else was not and that they somehow knew each other. My meaning is that coming from someone who was not involved in the thread at all and reading the whole thread in one go once it had finished (if that makes sense) it does come across as a small misunderstanding blown way out of proportion by all those involved and those who chose to chip in at the time. Verbal bullying? No. Slightly intimidating to a newbie?....

jojosmaman · 17/07/2008 14:58

If it didn't take me so much time to write a post I might have seen that this has now come to a satisfactory end of elephant shooting in PJ's. Damn!

Sim43 · 17/07/2008 15:00

Pleeeeeaaaaase someone put me out of my misery what does shooting elephants in pyjamas mean? I cannot function for the rest of the day until I know.

Sim43 · 17/07/2008 15:00

Although I have to go to School now so will look foward to an answer on my return

ExterminAitch · 17/07/2008 15:01

righto. i don't know who's a newbie and whose not, tbh. i don't know who knows who on here, there are about 100,000 of us members of MN.

it's really not difficult. sim posted something that was by her own admission and yours, wide open to 'misinterpretation', sm queried it and got a good bit of verbal in return that was to my reading, rather undermining.
various people responded to her question as to how easy it was to understand what SM wrote, and sim responded to that in a particularly angry manner. had sim posted 'i meant it as a compliment' from the off, there'd be no case to answer and no debate to have. don't know why this is still being discussed really, as sim herself has moved on to pachyderms in the jimjams.

ExterminAitch · 17/07/2008 15:07

x-post.

Groucho Marx sorry for ignorance.
