What are creoles?

YANBU it's a horrible term and is discriminatory in the same way as racist/sexist/hmophobic taunts IMO.

The worst vitriol seems to be amongst adolescents (I work with them for my sins), "Emo", Goths and Bods etc. are extremely disparaging of their "chav" counterparts and worryingly this isn't discouraged by their parents, in actual fact sometimes it seems to be encouraged!

OrmIrian · 16/07/2008 12:45

They are earrings of course peacelily. Didn't you even know that

Well said Scottishmummy - ned is an excellent word.

wasabipeanut · 16/07/2008 12:51

I don't like it - Janice Turner wrote about it in T2 this morning saying that it was a ghastly word. I agree with her. It seems that the white working class are the last group that its ok to laugh at and take the piss out of.

Not on really.

When someone wearing Boden visits your house and asks to "use the toilet" you might suck your teeth in and think they were COMMON. They would be unlikely to be a CHAV, though.

I have heard some people refer to others as non-PLU. I didn't know what this meant until I was told it stands for "People Like Us". I thought that was an awful put-down!

I just did, laughing, whats wrong with boden anyway?

NumberJill · 16/07/2008 13:04

If anyone was judgemental enough to use the term "non PLU" about me, I would take it as a compliment.

PLU is a Gay term for people like us!

ViolentFemme · 16/07/2008 13:35

NED = Non Eductated Delinquant(sp?)

We left them behind when we moved. Good fucking riddance.

MaryAnnSingleton · 16/07/2008 13:42

It seems that 'Boden' is applied in a similar way - a general catch all word to describe middle class gentille folk - it annoys me because that is so lazy

dont actually know what boden is

ExterminAitch · 16/07/2008 13:43

tbh i think the boden classes can take it. it's when people kick downwards at an underclass that it's particularly shitey, imo.
