To be secretly pleased when my corner shop runs out of all bread except the plastic white stuff?

The pressure to eat bread that's good for you and 'tastes better' means that our bread bin always has a seeded loaf or something else equally poncy in it. Imagine my delight when I had to do an emergency run and the shop only had the plastic white stuff...

It dragged me back in to the days of ham & mustard sarnies and white toast...I'm loving it but it won't last long....the loaf is almost over

do you know white bread is actually quite good for kiddies?? It's easier to digest and so they get more energy from it rather than using up half the calories just to digest it!

Stop beating yourself up and buy white vs poncy alternatly.'just to make sure no one becomes a fussy eater and will only eat the poncy stuff' !!!

gingerninja · 11/07/2008 20:37

Mmm, white toast, cold, butter. lovely only works with sliced white bread

eddiejo · 11/07/2008 20:38

Yeah - we should start a petition to ban all poncy bread at weekends

meglet · 11/07/2008 20:39

I have to eat white bread as I have IBS and brown bread keeps me on the loo for hours.

I still feel really naughty when I buy it .

Guadalupe · 11/07/2008 20:40

all bread gives me IBS

I long for thick white toast with cold butter and marmite.

I only really have it when I give birth.

bythepowerofgreyskull · 11/07/2008 20:41

Oh! Bythepowerofgreyskull
Are you related to me?

ConnorTraceptive · 11/07/2008 20:44

Oh I know what you mean. We have poncy bread that's good for you but I keep a sneaky loaf of white bread in the freezer for toast (shhhh )

ConnorTraceptive · 11/07/2008 20:45

ooh I love burnt toast too. you can poke your marmite though

Goober · 11/07/2008 20:48

Marmite, or...............Lemon curd?

Rachmumoftwo · 11/07/2008 20:49

White bread in this country isn't all that bad. It has added vitamins, allegedly. Too much wholemeal isn't that great for littlies. I like the odd fresh tiger loaf from ASDA as a treat, but have to resist eating the whole loaf!

eddiejo · 11/07/2008 20:50

Lets stop now - am gluten/wheat free and haven't had it for years and have just dribbled in the keyboard

eddiejo · 11/07/2008 20:50
