It's been sat in reception for a week, everyone has had a rummage and I figured anyone who was going to recognise them would have done.

Have I been unreasonable?

Do you really need an answer?

DoubleBluff · 10/07/2008 21:48

theft by finding

Carmenere · 10/07/2008 21:49

YABU I would be concerned that it belongs to a child whose parents are a bit disorganised but who can't afford to replace it. A week is not long enough. Child could be off school sick or something.

StressTeddy · 10/07/2008 21:49

tis not yours
It's only a week

BreeVanderCampLGJ · 10/07/2008 21:49

Is it yours ??

If not leave it.

lulumama · 10/07/2008 21:49

take it back. agree with carmenere

WendyWeber · 10/07/2008 21:50

Does this mean that someone else has taken your labelled uniform?

I confess that I have done this myself (Taken someone else's unlabelled stuff after ours went missing I mean!)

Amoral · 10/07/2008 21:50

Yes I really need a fucking answer, or why would I post?

How would they know it was theirs though? There were about 20 unmarked jumpers. They were all school issue uniform.

WendyWeber · 10/07/2008 21:51

Yes but when it's unlabelled, how will they know it's theirs anyway?

Primary school uniform is a merry-go-round...

Amoral · 10/07/2008 21:51

It's the last day of term tomorrow.

It is stealing.

Our school has in the past made a collection fro lost property. Anything that hasn't be claimed for a while, (terms not weeks) is sold off in the hall. There is a newsletter to tell parents to look first and then its sold. Proceeds go back to the school.

I week isn't long is it? The owner may be off school.

Amoral · 10/07/2008 21:52

No, because I don't send my child to school with unlabeled clothes.

But the lost property box has been available to look through since 2007. They put it in reception to get it emptied.

Its summer I expect lots get left in the playground. Have you lost one?

Carmenere · 10/07/2008 21:54

FFS if you are so bloody right in never sending your children to school in unlabelled uniform then you will recognise what is wrong in this situation.

StressTeddy · 10/07/2008 21:54

do you work at the school?
Have lots of you been offered to "take your pick" from the selection? If it's just you making the decision for yourself then I wouldn't do it

lulumama · 10/07/2008 21:54

why do you deserve it? why shoudl you take it?

i labelled everything of DSs. the odd label has fallen off, and it has taken me a few days to get a new label on there, would be pissed off if he left the jumper at school and it got taken by anotehr parent.

'Tis stealing. So yes, YABU.

BreeVanderCampLGJ · 10/07/2008 21:55

So you are not seeking to regain an unmarked top, that may or may not be yours.....

You label all yours, but you are considering taking an unnamed one................

You sound like a thief. TBH

TheFallenMadonna · 10/07/2008 21:55

Oh well, if they send their child to school in unlabelled clothes...

Of course it's stealing. Don't do it.
