I am always so tired...two dc...i work part time, house is always a mess, laundry always in a pile.

Neighbour - 2 dc, full time work in a good career, house is fucking spotless (I have been in at random times multiple times (they do not have a cleaner), kids in multiple activities, dad is a coach for one of the activities (he also works full time).
I thought fair enough that's a lot but fair play to them.

My dc joined a new activity yesterday eve and I bumped into neighbour in the corridor of the building, made our pleasantries, turned out her dc do this activity too and she is the secretary of the club and was at a meeting.

How do they do it?? why do they have so much time? where am i going wrong??

That IS busy! I do all the other things you describe but cannot keep on top of the house alongside it.

I have a cleaner 😜

I also only work 4 days a week and frequently at home so am around from 5pm without needing a commute time (and the kids just come in at 3 so they're not needing to be collected etc)

I honestly don't feel busy most of the time - I have plenty of evenings on the sofa!

I think maybe they don't go on their phones.

Maybe they have a cleaner?

100% this

One of my friends is a business owner, a politician (shadow minister), school age kids (she was deputy leader of a council with primary school age kids), and still fits in running.

She doesn't do social media beyond her political profile and she avoided that as long as she possibly could.

I sometimes look at my screen time stats and multiply it up over the months and years and it's depressing, i could have achieved a huge amount more in that time than i have, and I'm seem by a lot of my friends as a high achiever/ busy person.

Some of us get home, have supper and vital responsibilities then watch TV in a stupor. Others don't watch TV and do life instead 😂
I'd love to, but would prefer to flop on the sofa.
I think couples match each other on this, as in both are floppers or busy bees. Otherwise they would infuriate each other too much.

I’d say some of its “mindset” and “priorities” but honestly I suspect a lot of it’s just down to the chemistry of your body. For 2-3 weeks a month I’m like your neighbour, on the go, energy and enthusiasm for everything, cycle commuting and the exercising and remembering everyone’s birthdays etc. And then the other week to two I’m in a complete state of overwhelm and exhaustion. This variation is completely down to hormones and period cycles, I’m just glad the active hormones outnumber the inactive ones. I do often wonder once my menopause comes and goes which of these personalities I’ll be left with!

Have the got a cleaner? I work part time have a 3 year old partner works full time and I just have enough time to run round and do a. Quick clean before going to bed never mind going to different clubs

She has said they haven't got a cleaner - quite clearly!!

Aluna · Today 17:58

Any woman working FT needs a cleaner. Perhaps she and DH share the chores equally.

I always assume they just have good health and sit at the energetic end of the activity spectrum.
