Noisy hotel sex. Why?

Why do people have such noisy sex in hotels? I have just got home from a wedding yesterday, after which I stayed in a hotel. The couple in the next room had vocal sex at 2am and again at 8am. Proper shrieks and moans and grunts and words that I could hear through the wall from both of them, for a good half an hour both times.

Have your fun by all means. But why make so much noise?? I know hotel rooms are private but hotels aren't, especially not in the middle of the night.

AIBU to think it's no less selfish (and quite a bit more unreasonable) than keeping other guests up with music or any other noise. It's not the first time I've been kept awake like this.

Years ago DH and I stayed in a small pub with rooms. There was some girl wailing like a banshee all night. When we went down for breakfast there was only one other couple there and she had a face like thunder on her. Clearly the mind blowing sex hadn’t done her much good.

Probably a bit worried that not enough people heard her. Wink

Only when they watch football 😀.

Well not if there a Manchester United supporter- their language at the great success they are enjoying currently will be very different!!

@MrsShawnHatosy you missed a trick, you could have sarcastically asked if she had a good night.

It's just different, obviously and I can't believe I need to explain thd difference. It's different in the same way you can see/hear people walking about everyday (sight and hearing) but it wouldn't be okay if these people came and started touching and sniffing you.

You put sight and hearing in the same category again, completely proving @MrsPapillon’s point.

I would have said challenge accepted. As soon as they finished, I would say, our turn and put a speaker next to me to amplify my voice and ideally make it 35 minutes.

Could you not have just knocked on their door and asked if you could join them? Problem solved!

I have to agree with pp. It’s either because they have never had to be quiet or because they are having a night without the kids! Come on OP. Have you never had sex that was noisy?

I mean, yeah I get they want noisy sex if they've finally got away from the kids but I personally I'd still be aware of the guests next door through the paper thin walls and embarrassed the next day at breakfast 😱🙈. If they want to go all out, better for someone to take the kids and stay at home where they can rodger each other senseless without an audible audience 🤣

Another good response if you do not want to do synchronised fake moaning or applause at the end.

Years back when camping, there was a German couple in a tent nearby and she used to go full volume. Almost the whole campsite used to applause afterwards each night. She must have had lots of energy as they appeared to go serious cycling each day as well.
