To think Jools has the perfect life

Jools Oliver

Lots of kids, with partner since very young, lots of money, beautiful home.
I realise no one's life is perfect, but it seems ideal. Found love early, no rubbish men or heartbreak or loneliness of being alone and struggling. loads of kids and a loving, large family there as you get older, no money worries or having to work unless you want to, amazing countryside home

Am envious!

I don't know that I'd want her life per se, but I do envy people who found their life partner young without having to put up with a series of crap men.

Yep agree with this too

13RidgmontRoad · 15/10/2026 12:17

I mean... five neurodiverse children and needing to be in the public eye whether you want to or not doesn't sound like a picnic to me but I hope she is happy and I agree with others that money can go some way to ameliorate things.

Weeellokthen · 15/10/2026 12:19

Yeah, the only downside is she's married to slobbery Jamie 😅

Dollymylove · 15/10/2026 12:20

Delatron · 15/10/2026 10:45

I’m not sure I’d want lots of kids! Plus he must work an insane amount so not around? Thus she can’t really work - does she? Obviously they could have a Nannie but I don’t think they did. So lots of drudgery at home

Beautiful house - yes.

She will have staff. The eldest children are adults , maybe she has help with the younger ones.

Nesbi · 15/10/2026 12:22

I don’t think I would want a life where a load of fuckwits on the internet fall over themselves to judge me, my life choices, my career, my partner, his faithfulness, etc etc. Imagine coming coming across that sort of stuff online, must feel sickening to read it!

Renegging · 15/10/2026 12:22

Wouldn’t surprise me if she is reading this. For that alone, I would not want her life. Public scrutiny by nosey randoms is awful to me. I hope she is happy, as I wish for anyone else.

Cross-posted. I could not agree more.

Not really, she's married to Jamie Oliver.

In the words of the great CMAT: OK, don't be a bitch, the man's got kids and they wouldn't like it.

MrsShawnHatosy · 15/10/2026 12:06

Yeah, but lots of professional chefs are known to have short fuses.

18 year old me wouldn't have considered that.

stripesandspotsanddots · 15/10/2026 12:27

I once heard an interview with Jamie Oliver and he said if he could go back in time and live his life again he would just run a pub with Jools because once you are famous you lose your anonymity and never get it back again - and that applies to your kids too. I really like both the Olivers and wish them well, but their life wouldn't be for me.

You are missing that some of us don't think the tradwife lifestyle is a great thing.

I don't think she's a tradwife ffs, what's so wrong with bringing up your kids, plus someone said she was doing degree, studying to be a midwife, presumably since the kids are now older

tokennamechange · 15/10/2026 11:45

huh? so could anyone else's?

It would still be a lot easier if you are very ill to have (presumably), a supportive family, enough money not to worry about working and paying the mortgage off, likely private health care to get treated faster, cleaners, etc. Rather than having to do all that while being ill.

Money doesn't make you happy but it does make being miserable easier to bear.

Also even if (obviously hoping not) she did become very ill now, many people would happily exchange 40-50 very good years with almost every luxury and happiness, than 80 years of miserable poverty.

100%!

Tell you whose life I wouldn't want - Mrs Rees Mogg's. She's far richer than him, so I guess it must have been for love.

We will have to agree to disagree on that.
That level of imbalance in a relationship is not my cup of tea.
Though I have no strong views on Jamie. I neither like nor dislike him.

Loads of kids and a famous husband? I'd rather be the star of my own life, thanks.

What does that even mean? She has a life of her own, and it could be filled to the brim by doing lots of things, that the public have no awareness of.

LakeGeneva1 · 15/10/2026 12:30

Perfect life? She had to sleep with JO.

Hey, you're not so good yourself.

Tana Ramsey is also training as a midwife which is interesting.
Jools wanted more kids I believe, she spoke on a podcast about trying for more and having miscarriages in lockdown.
I hope Jools is happy, she certainly seems to be and anything she’s not happy with she has the money to change. And the house! Gorgeous!

Yes msybe they just love kids and find it very fulfilling

How would you know that? Unless you know her personally, and spent enough time in her company.

Fernsarethebestplants · 15/10/2026 12:38

If you love living in the countryside and having five kids, it would be a nice life.

I don't like either of these things!

Theyretryingnottolaughonthismorning · 15/10/2026 12:41

faithfultoGeorgeMichael · 15/10/2026 11:58

No but I know someone who was and deeply regrets it.

Who and why the deep regret?

emuloc · 15/10/2026 12:41

Delatron · 15/10/2026 11:53

True! But if she’s at home she won’t have outsourced childcare (I don’t think - doesn’t seem the type) and I can’t imagine being at home with 4 kids being that much fun. Though she does seem the earth mother type so maybe she was happy with it all.

If she was not, then she has the means, and opportunities, that your average Betty won't have, to do something about it.

I can see what you mean OP, but no ones life is perfect. Also, you forgot the best thing which is she's married to someone who cooks food for a living 😋
When I was in my late teens I remember thinking a professional chef would be the best sort of life partner 😁

This too! and lots of it so healthy, would love this
