To think Jools has the perfect life

Jools Oliver

Lots of kids, with partner since very young, lots of money, beautiful home.
I realise no one's life is perfect, but it seems ideal. Found love early, no rubbish men or heartbreak or loneliness of being alone and struggling. loads of kids and a loving, large family there as you get older, no money worries or having to work unless you want to, amazing countryside home

Am envious!

The definition of perfect is very subjective. Personally, being married to old rubber lips and having a gaggle of crotch goblins wouldn't be my idea of a life well lived, but hey ho, it takes all sorts to make the world go round!
As long as she's happy! 🙂

OsfameronTanamoril · 15/10/2026 11:55

Obviously being Jools is better than being a single mum of 5 in grinding poverty, I get that. But these are not the only two choices.

I don’t want that many kids.

I get a lot of satisfaction from financially supporting myself and my family and would not wish to handover that part of parenting to my husband.

I have meaningful work.

Presumably her life is great for her and that’s lovely - it would not be great for me.

But you could still do meaningful work if you chose, could study, travel the world or just enjoy raising kids. The pressure would be off as you'd have security

She actually said in an interview she regretted getting drawn into modelling and not training as a midwife when she was young. I believe she was nearly 50 when she trained so that’s a large chunk of her life she didn’t really have a particularly meaningful career.

she’s also written about her numerous fertility problems and miscarriages which is very sad and nothing to be envious of. In fact I think I read they had tried ivf for a sixth child when they must have both been into their 40s which does hint at some lack of fulfilment with life.

Oh that is very sad and to me tells the tale that all of their children were very much wanted. Obviously I don't know for sure with Jools but most of us look back on our life's wishing we had done things differently but we all done what we thought was best at the time.

Her health could go downhill at any minute nobody is immune.
Money, family etc does not make up for good health.

So no human being can be described as having a great life because they are a human may have future poor health? Odd ...

WhitneySpears · 15/10/2026 11:57

Do you know her personally?

If not you cannot possibly know what her life is like and whether she is to be envied or not.

Ridiculous thing to post.

How would you know? Are you one of his flngs?

No but I know someone who was and deeply regrets it.

Cheesegrapeschutney · 15/10/2026 11:58

I hope she has a lovely life, I don't think there's ever much point trying to analyse any celebrity lifestyles or their personal core levels of happiness though as the information available is likely to be very unreliable (it could be accurate that she enjoys life, equally it could be inaccurate! No way of knowing). It would be fair for someone to say 'if I personally had X set of circumstances I believe I would be very happy' but that's also subject to personal preference as PPs have said (I wouldn't personally choose her circumstances as they wouldn't suit me).

As a sidenote this thread has made me realise I had amalgamated Jools Holland and Jonathan Ross in my mind!

Jamie Oliver is very annoying though! … Gordon Ramsay however 🤔

I have the biggest crush on him!

Talking about “fertility problems” when you already have five children is a bit tone deaf really.

I guess they have lots of kids because they have plenty of money and not much else to do other than have kids.

Large families can be nice you know.

And for all those posters who have commented on her having a rich husband, as if to insinuate that she targetted him, it's worth remembering that he wasn't rich when she married him. Thats why marriages like hers and Colleen Rooneys last so long - because no matter what, at least the men can be sure the women didn't marry them for money.

Yes exactly
I also think quite a lot of people would like a larger family if they could afford it

I can see what you mean OP, but no ones life is perfect. Also, you forgot the best thing which is she's married to someone who cooks food for a living 😋
When I was in my late teens I remember thinking a professional chef would be the best sort of life partner 😁

He has had affairs, one after another.

How do you know this? With who?

People want to be married to Gordon Ramsay now? That constantly angry man?

Yeah, but lots of professional chefs are known to have short fuses.

Tootsurly · 15/10/2026 12:08

I don't know that I'd want her life per se, but I do envy people who found their life partner young without having to put up with a series of crap men.

Autumnbootcamp · 15/10/2026 12:10

MrsShawnHatosy · 15/10/2026 12:06

Yeah, but lots of professional chefs are known to have short fuses.

I met one the other day, he was completely disillusioned with the stress, hours etc. He said there's no benefit in home cooking over and above buying a good quality ready meal, and you'd save time.

He was retraining as a paramedic!

He also said, use more salt.

Loads of kids, to me, means loads of worries. I worry enough about my nieces and nephews suffering and finding life hard. I'd feel completely responsible for my own children's pain and that would be unbearable. I'm also autistic and am shocked that an autistic woman would have children knowing how painful life is!

So autistic women shouldn't have children?

I don't think of myself as particularly knowledgable about Jools Oliver, but I do know that her father had a paralysing stroke when she was 9 and died when she was 22, so no I don't think she has had a perfect life.

Her instagram feed is not her life.

SemperIdem · 15/10/2026 12:12

She seems to have a very nice life, certainly financially speaking.

I’m sure there are things about it that aren’t perfect though.

Autumnbootcamp · 15/10/2026 12:12

OP I'm interested in your take on this. Are you keen to improve your own life? Does thinking about hers make you sad, inspired, or what?

Or are you her, on a PR effort :)

HolyMacaroniBatman · 15/10/2026 12:13

Jools Holland? Yes sounds like an absolutely fabulous life. Gets to spend his time playing live music with some of the best musicians in the country, lives in a castle, gets to properly indulge in his favourite hobbies. Sounds perfect.

It's amazing what she's happy to put up with,as he's had a few affairs apparently, then she has a band aid baby. Not a life I'd want.
