Stained mattresses….

Exciting, I know, but aibu to assume everybody’s mattress is stained?

I’m meticulous about washing bedding so beds always look
and smell fresh and clean, but as soon as I strip them the mattress just looked awful.
we had a new one about 6 months ago, yet it’s already got yellow and brown circles on.

Teen DS is even worse. I’d stripped the beds today then got caught at the door before I could re-make with spare bedding. MIL was visiting g and popped upstairs and I felt mortified that she might see the bare mattress ( MIL issues, I know). But this is the same for everyone; yes? MIL will have stains on hers too?!

I know I could use a mattress protector but I don’t, so here we are!

I spent an absolute fortune on a pure wool stuffed pocket sprung mattress and there’s no way it will be stained
Invest in a well fitting mattress protector and it will not only protect your mattress it will make your bottom sheet feel more luxurious and smooth

Please tell me about your mattress? I really fancy a wool one. Is it worth it?

A huge thank you to the lonely people who have either identified with me or given me useful tips and ideas.

Not sure how we would be students with a teen DS, or how people manage to get a feel through a post that my DH doesn’t eat properly
when I’m not home…. But I think I may leave this one here now 😂

I’ll be too busy with my vax to check in anyway 🙃

LOVELY!!! Not lonely…. Definitely lovely 😂😂😂

No stains here, apart from on my DD’s where she spilt some tea and it dried. I spot washed it but it didn’t get rid. The mattress wasn’t that old so it’s still going strong.

I always use mattress protectors - you can some with zips that are good. I also use pillow protectors as the menfolk in my family get very sweaty heads that leave a yellowish stain.

Ive got bamboo puffy mattress protectors and puffy pure wool pillow protectors and still get some staining. Its inevitable, its humans

Imagine how long people have lasted in beds of some description without everything remaining spotless and sterile!!!

I’ve just remembered that I managed to launch a whole cup of tea over mine- when I’d stripped the bed! So no protector or sheet. I am horribly clumsy, so I’m used to ruining stuff like this .

Completely normal if you don't use a protector (which I don't and you can tell which is my side from the days I slept in fake tan!)

My ex used to work as a driver, bringing old mattresses back after people got new ones. They were always marked in some way. Btw, sidenote: always check in your divan drawers before getting rid, the amount of rings they used to find!

I just cut the period stain part out when I got rid of my last mattress. This one is mostly still as good as the day we got it... Except the tan side 😅
😂😂 I'm a little lonely tonight but alot lovely so I'll take either! 😁
