Well, this is absolutely sickening and terrifying. Those poor women and poor women and girls in the UK who will no doubt end up suffering too. Women's rights and safety seems to be the last thing that matters these days.

Unless you’re in the US it’s not really relevant.

If we ignore the fact the rest of PP’s post, and focus just on the frat house part..

Surely we should stop American men from entering the country too, because they evidently all have terrible attitudes towards women.

They must have, if that group from Cornell did. It has to be universal, right?

That's a vile platform full of hate. Weirdos gather there when they've been banned from MN. They are exactly what they accuse you of. They've also got their spies on here. Pathetic.

I suspect 99.9% of the half a billion weekly Reddit users have never even heard of Mumsnet before never mind been banned from it 🤣

I’m ok with visas and vetting. There’s a lot more control over entry if that is applied to all entry.

When Britain was being bombed in WW2 people didn't flee. Children were evacuated to the countryside but adults stayed and fought or kept the war effort going from their home towns.

Men in Ukraine are fighting, they're not allowed to leave the country.

So I have little respect for military aged males who flee their country of origin for an easy life in the West.

Yes they did, mostly to Commonwealth countries - look up CORB. The king himself was offered passage to Canada, but refused.

Yeah lol, the BBC, who are constantly trying to make the public fear & despise immigrants. No thanks, I won't be clicking on that link.

But let me ask you, how do you know specifically if a person is gay or not? Unless you can look into their mind somehow there is no way of truly knowing. So saying people are lying is incredibly disgusting and dehumanising and honestly, pretty homophobic too as well.

DebbieSavage
Are you always this naive?
Quite apart from what the BBC says.
What is your honest opinion on the murder of Rhiannon Whyte? How would you feel if she was your daughter or sister?
I think murdering another human being (lone female) is as dehumanising and disgusting as you can get.
If you can't agree with that then......... I truly hope that you or any of your loved ones ever have to deal with such circumstances.

There is no vetting check that covers attitudes towards women. I’m not sure how you could make that procedurally possible.

It’s far too ambiguous to be covered by a legal check, that is checking for known criminality etc.

I know some argue that you could assume that a certain country of origin would imply a negative attitude to women, but then as I’ve just said, would that now have to include Americans? Or the French?

The asylum system can’t check or verify. Visas can ask for police certificates before entry. The Australian system is far more secure as it offers humanitarian visas to people it has checked first.

If we’re going to offer say 20 to 30k places of refuge a year it makes sense to ensure they go to vetted, checked and the more vulnerable. Australia has a humanitarian visa specifically for lone females.

The you suspect wrong. There's a section to bitch about MN, ironicly calling themselves troll hunters.

Asylum seekers who are under 18 always require being housed separately to adult asylum seekers because among the adult asylum seekers are sexual predators and criminals.

These are the people we are bringing into our country. Once granted asylum they will be free to prey on other people.

That is incorrect- under 18s become the responsibility of the local authority as they are under 18 with no parents or guardians so become looked after children - that’s the law!

I suspect right. 8.3k weekly visitors (173 posts a week) to the MN troll hunting subreddit / 515 million weekly visitors to Reddit = 0.00161%. Tiny.

I visited the (pretty boring so didn't go back) subreddit a couple of times and from what I could see they were essentially troll hunting threads which can't be discussed on here 🤷‍♀️

I'm not really interested in a breakdown. I know they exist - insignificant weirdos.

So what happens when there’s no room left? No houses, no jobs, no chance of a doctors appointment, no local council services? How many more can we take before the country is at critical breaking point? I’ve asked lots of pro immigration supporters this question and never get a straight answer, it’s easy to say there’s plenty of room but at the rate they are entering that room will eventually run out so what’s the plan then?

we're all telling you its not a zero sum game, but you dont like that answer, would be my guess.

Massive shame Brexit- which Farage et al were all behind, removed our ability to vet those arriving in the Uk.

not often talked about but the loss of Schengen access has meant we can no longer check many non-uk criminal records.

Take a look at Germany or any other country and see the migration issues they face.

They too have seen many undocumented migrants and crimes where vetting did not occur. Plus the ability to return to first country of entry is very low.

They didn’t vet them then either.

Brexit didn’t change the fact as a country we let people abuse the system.

Perhaps if they stayed where they belong and did not criminally invade another country where they have contributed nothing then they would not get raped or molested.

At least you lot have stopped pretending this is about protecting women. Just the white ones eh?

Nobody needs to pretend anything. Women's safety prioritises sensitivities over language. You can keep insinuating all you want, you're not going to stop women worrying for themselves and their daughters.

Get real, the USA and France and other countries in the developed world have a whole load of legislation and cultural norms to safeguard women's rights. It's a long way from perfect but it's so much better for equality between men and women than the setup in places like Afghanistan, Sudan, Eritrea etc.

I think it was perfectly obvious that it was directed at a racist victim blaming poster, as so many are on these type of threads.

Interesting you're here to defend the racist victim blaming post @Ereshkigalangcleg, aren't you fancying yourself as a feminist?
