Friend using mothers parking space to make money

Tiggermad · Yesterday 20:39

We live local to a busy airport where parking is expensive.
My mother who is elderly has a parking space outside her home no car. It is 5 minutes from
airport.
One of her friends daughters who I also follow on social media and lives about 10 houses away from
my mother advertises her parking space a a cost weekly to people leaving cars for weeks as opposed to using airport car parks. I see her advertising regularly.
A few weeks ago my mother said her friends daughter had asked to “borrow” my mom’s parking space for a “friend” going on holiday. I have seen her advertising spaces for multiple spaces.
I think she is using my mother’s space to charge others under the guise it’s for a friend. So. effectively she is making £25-30 a week if she rents spaces out.
i feel this is morally wrong if she is making money out of my mothers space. I’ve no
proof though.
I have not raised this with her friends daughters yet as when I asked my mom she became a bit defensive but she is quite vulnerable.
What can I do to ensure she isn’t used for her friends daughters to make money of her drive ??

Charge her.

Balloonhearts · Yesterday 20:43

Tell her you know what she's doing and to cut your mum in or fuck off. Cheeky bitch.

Ponoka7 · Yesterday 20:44

If you think that you've got the right to over rule your Mother, then you tell the friend that you know she rents out spaces and you aren't happy about her renting your Mum's space out. If it was to be rented out, she should be splitting it with your Mum. In what way is your Mum vulnerable?

Silverbirchleaf · Yesterday 20:44

Why doesn’t your mum park her car there?

DownwithTG · Yesterday 20:45

How often do you see your mother?

Screamingabdabz · Yesterday 20:45

I think you should park your car there and mess up the plan. She’s a CF.

She hasn’t got one!

Did you not read further than the first sentence? Because the second sentence tells you why

DownwithTG · Yesterday 20:46

Why don’t you start renting it out on behalf of your mother and give her the money? Makes sense rather than sit there empty

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · Yesterday 20:47

Get a mate to park their car there

DownwithTG · Yesterday 20:47

So it must be resident only parking if she can rent it out? Otherwise anyone could
just park there

DownwithTG · Yesterday 20:48

This does not make sense

This is street parking? Or a driveway?

Walkerzoo · Yesterday 20:48

Put a plant pot in the middle. Or a massive planter thing.

I don't mind people making money but I wouldn't like strangers on the drive

Butterbeanbutterbo · Yesterday 20:48

Rent it yourself. Then turn up to friend’s daughters house and ask for money back

Aren’t you NC with your highly abusive mother?

Tiggermad · Yesterday 20:50

My mum doesn’t have a car so it’s a free space. She is mid 80’s.
she won’t accept her friends daughter is using her because she says it’s her friend using her space but if she is advertising so much in social media in our local airport site.
I think her friends daughter uses my kims as an overspill space.

On the street? Permit parking?

I am low contact and it’s complicated. I don’t want her being abused by others thank you. And that’s my business if I choose to be there or not.

So for all you know - your mother may have agreed

Drive. One space.

So actually on your mother’s property

given you have NC/LC with your mother -
my guess is that she’s agreed to this

On drive parking, A lot of locals advertise their spaces on social media.

Yes
so these cars will be parked outside her front door!

she knows And has agreed to it is my guess.

maybe just to piss you off if she’s half as as abusive and horrible as you say

I asked her and she said her daughters friend had said it was for a friend but I have seen her advertising her space weekly on social media.
