On holiday at a holiday park with evening entertainment, the entertainment staff tried to get me on stage as they had randomly decided to pick me, I said no, they kept on and on before telling my daughter to get me or I obviously didn’t love her.
I made it clear I did not want to go on stage and then he asked my daughter my name before getting the audience to chant my name to go.
This is kids entertainment and although the children were asked to grab a parent, many didn’t and I really didn’t like the humiliation.

Forgot to add he also asked the audience to do a big awww for my daughter because her adult wouldn’t come on the stage.

I’d have walked out.

sesquipedalian · 28/09/2026 16:54

Well I’d certainly never go to that holiday park again.

nomas · 28/09/2026 16:55

That’s awful. No surprise that he picked on a woman.

Who did he pick on next?

Releasemeplease · 28/09/2026 16:55

That's disgusting OP.
He was bullying you and trying to humiliate you.
I hope you have put in an official complaint.

Did you always opt out of the annual mum’s race at sports day too?

Spoil-sport!

Kids like to see their parents involved.

AshCullen1894 · 28/09/2026 16:57

I would track down the regional manager and make a formal complaint. Writing, verbal, everything. What fuckers.

wishfulthinking25 · 28/09/2026 16:59

Can u say which holiday park so I know never to book there? That’s awful!

I wouldn’t go anywhere remotely like that. I thought everyone knew to avoid such hell holes

Needmorelego · 28/09/2026 17:01

Surely as part of their training they'd be taught to tell when an audience member really doesn't want to join in and they would just move on to someone else.
At least I would hope so.
People can have 101 different reasons why they don't want to go on stage and perform and it's not the entertainment/ cast members business as to why.
Definitely complain @harrowingexperience .
The staff should be able to tell when someone is visibly uncomfortable.

MyKindHiker · 28/09/2026 17:04

Long shot but don't suppose it was Nutty Norman at Center Parcs? He was doing a show in one of them a few years back and gave massive incel vibes, total creep.

I don't think entertainment get training! I think it's just person with an act auditions and they give the job to whoever they think will do.

They must have some training.
It's a show with a script.

No I like to take part when I can but my 2 year old was asleep in her pushchair next to our table and although I was sitting with my husband who was briefly asked if he wanted to go up, he pointed at our sleeping child and shook his head and his no was sufficient so he said I had no excuse as my husbands is looking after little one.

Presumably the fact she didn’t want to get up on stage… She’s allowed to say no!

Could you have just told them to piss off. Surely they would have got the message.

themonkeysnuts · 28/09/2026 17:15

I would also put a complaint in. Being forced into going onstage for 'entertainment' is not on. No should mean No
aka find another mug to laugh at

Kids don't necessarily want to see their kids go up on stage. I wouldn't mind going up, but my kids would both die with embarrassment now and when they were younger they would have been distressed to be seperated from me like that. This stuff should be voluntary or it is not fun.
