AIBU for wanting space after my husband got an unexpected X call?

Husband and I have had very rocky few years. We have sorted everything out. (Both in the wrong at various different points)

we are moving next month and this week was stressful with solicitors and chasing ect…I recently gave up smoking and I’m so proud of myself but I feel like I could easily go and buy a box 😩

lovely evening chilling on the sofa and he gets a call from the app X (twitter) some random foreign name. Automatically told me what he used this app for and said what the hell why is someone calling me. (I looked it up and it’s common) I just got so pissed off because it brought back a lot of trauma. I made him sleep downstairs because I just knew I wouldn’t be able to relax with him next to me. I didn’t really want to talk about it and hear him out as he tried to blame me for getting annoyed about it and i shut it down. I don’t really know what the point of this post is but am I being unreasonable for wanting to be by myself and having space?

I think if you’re going to react like that every time he gets a random spam call he’d be better off elsewhere.

bananaapplepears · Yesterday 11:07

How can you live like this? You obviously haven't dealt with any insecurities you have. If you stay together then you need to trust him, what's the point otherwise. Did he even do anything wrong for you to react like that?
I didn't even know you can get a call through X.

OrangeFlower14 · Yesterday 11:07

He got a spam call and you’re angry wow

hopspot · Yesterday 11:09

Can you explain why you feel he has done wrong?

LondonLass2026 · Yesterday 11:10

Sorry, what is an "X call via Twitter" ?

I thought from the title you were going to say that an ex partner had phoned him, and now you need some space.

Boredonafridaynight · Yesterday 11:10

Your being very unreasonable

rainbowstardrops · Yesterday 11:11

Eh? What did he do wrong?

cartagenagina · Yesterday 11:11

Do you mean he cheated in the past, you agreed to get over it, but find that actually, you can’t?

If so, I think you should probably just end it.

I'd run a mile

(from you)

DidYeAye16 · Yesterday 11:13

Sounds like you could be doing with some nicorette patches.

Backpain2026 · Yesterday 11:13

So he got a spam nuisance call and you made him sleep on the sofa?

I'm afraid that I utterly unhinged.

Clearly whatever caused the rocky few years is completely unresolved. I assume he cheated and therefore you cannot trust him.

Honestly, you can't live like this. Either of you.

Trust him or split up

I think it’s an audio call through X (formerly Twitter).

Maybe this is what it is 🤣

Same here, is this a thing? Is it a scam phishing thing or attractive girls in your area type situation?

I’m not sure because he wiped the whole thing before I could even ask or see for myself. It was a girls foreign name that came up.

This made me cackle 😆.
Username response always makes me laugh too.

SummerHolsNoMore · Yesterday 11:17

Not sure how an unanswered call bought up past trauma….?

It’s not that I don’t trust him.It just made my body go stiff and gave me that feel sick feeling I had years ago. Added in with a really bad week.

Is does sound unhinged BUT only you know him and your past issues and one thing Ive learned is actually a woman's gut instinct is right. The fact he suddenly wiped it all quickly sounds suspicious.

summitfever · Yesterday 11:18

Without anything to base suspicion on you’re being wildly paranoid. You’re not in a position to be in a relationship and should be single until you address your insecurity issues. You need to leave this man alone.

summitfever · Yesterday 11:18

It could also be that he’s been engaging in conversations with these women but only you will know if that’s likely

Sirzy · Yesterday 11:20

I am struggling to see what he has done wrong here to be honest. But if the relationship is that rocky I would be reconsidering moving!

Namenamchange · Yesterday 11:20

Has your husband had an affair in the past? If not you almost sound abusive.

pizzaHeart · Yesterday 11:21

I can’t understand what’s happened.
My DH just got a scam call - it was unknown number showed as from Wales. He didn’t take it by the way and removed the number straight away he always does it with unknown numbers.
Was it similar in your case or was it something different?

mtobrokeme · Yesterday 11:22

Unless there is more to this that you haven’t explained, I think you need to apologise to your husband. If I told mine to sleep on the settee because he got a spam phone call he’d rightly laugh and tell me to get to fuck.
