Where do you think Jewish people come from?

Antisemitism is at full volume at the moment and I caveat this post with saying that I have absolutely no wish to make Jewish MNers feel uncomfortable but as an an atheist with no connection to Israel this really makes my blood boil.

I see so many SM posts about the Jews having 'colonized' Israel and Judea & Samaria, not having any claim to the land, not being indigenous and of course being 'Europeans settlers'.

They can't answer where they actually come from though so I thought anyone on here who shares their views might be able to give an answer and how they came to that conclusion.

I understand that Jews are an ethnicity with Judaism as their religion. Being Jewish is not a religion. Jews are still today spread out all over the world with the majority living in Israel and the US.

This has come into focus since the UK Government sanctions on Jewish businesses in Judea & Samaria recently with Jewish communities living there classed as 'illegal settlers'.

It's almost as if Jews and Judea have no connection at all.

So AIBU to ask where the Jews originated from if not from there?

I don't feel this belongs on the CITME board as although the war in Gaza has amplified beliefs, this not directly about that.

It seemed no-one learned from history. The creation of Pakistan in 1949 had the same geographical constraints.
The concept of a land corridor was proposed by Muhammad Ali Jinnah in May 1947. In an interview with a Reuters journalist, Jinnah demanded a sovereign, 800-mile-long land corridor through northern India (spanning across Uttar Pradesh and Bihar) to link West Pakistan and East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). This was rejected by Indian politicians.
The Bangladesh Liberation war followed and Bangladesh then became autonomous.

First of all, thw two are not remotely coparable in that sense. There is 1500 km between Paksitan and Bangladesh. There are 50km between WB and Gaza. 50km is manageable. 1500 km is not. That is why it was proposed during the discussions for a Palestinian State.

Second, lack of geographic contiguity is not the reason for the vicious Pakistani genocide in Bangladesh (Pakistanis like to forget about their nasty genoide which was by many magnitude much worse than anything Israel has ever done and I've never heard them demand any kin dof accountability for those horrors)

That you aren't what? Because in general, if someone says something antisemitic they would be considered an antisemite. Your use of "Your leader" is not an innocent one. You knew what you were saying. Is he my leader too because I'm Jewish? Because I believe that Israel has a right to exist?

If you are in Israel and elected him or agree with what he is doing then yes I would say he is your leader, he is the PM after all of the land where you all want to be. I am in no way saying Jewish people shouldn't have a place, not sure how you all keep getting there when no one on the thread has ever said that.

I would say someone following any party as following their leader - I hear similar aggressive attitudes and arguments from the likes of Tommy Robinson and followers, although he never got elected for anything, because his viewpoints are so extreme.

Maybe you should have chosen better words? Ones that don't sound an awful lot like what an antisemite would say. And maybe you shouldn't have referred to Netanyahu as "your leader" with everything that your chosen words imply

If the ‘you’ refers to Jews, plenty of us are anti him, both in Israel and in the diaspora. Just not too many on these threads.

Also it is difficult sometimes to retain balance when half the contributors will support ‘Bibi’ regardless of what he and his government does, and the other half think (although are careful not to explicitly say) that the Jews should just give up running Israel altogether.
