Aibu feeling uneasy about men taking little girls to the toilet in the womens toilet?

I've seen this a few times and I dont know what is the right thing to do.
So the other week we were at the cinema. I took my daughter to the toilet and as I was waiting for her a man came out of a cubicle with a little girl and went to wash her hands.
It got me thinking.
I feel uncomfortable a man in the womens toilet. I understand how you'd potentially feel uncomfortable taking a daughter into the mens toilets.
And the only other option in this situation was the disabled toilet but morally thats wrong.

I dont know what I feel is right in this situation so wanted to know other people's opinions.
So yabu: its right for a man to take girl into female toilets
Yanbu: he should take her somewhere else...but where?

What? To you doing better is having a toddler in the toilets which are filthy?! You are very strange.
Thankfully DH has common sense and does what is best for the children. It's the natural instinct for a parent.

He shouldn't go into ladies toilets, he clearly doesn't have common sense. I'd worry what other poor decisions he made whilst out with dc tbh.

Just tell him to take her to a cubicle in the mens as he is a man, hold her over the toilet if needed, that's it. That is what most dads do!

BirdLandedonmyHead · Today 14:26

The most vulnerable group is the children that are too ols to use the facilities of their parents sex, but too young to defend themselves. Not the youngest children.

Those are the girls that need men is stay out of the ladies toilets.

Presumably women have a stronger bladder than a 3yo? As an adult I would just find somewhere else because I can hold my wee.

I meant scoping it out for the toddler . If the womens are filthy by your logic a woman accompanying a toddler should therefore enter the mens

Yeah why not? Plenty of women nip into the mens when the queue is massive. I've seen it countless times at the theatre for example. They're usually very well maintained.

So any man can just use the female changing room regardless because that is their individual decision?

This thread/discussion is about a man accompanying a female child to the toilet. In that scenario he can choose to do so as his individual decision.

Why would a man bring a girl to the women’s automatically then ?the mens is fine . Bringing a little one straight to the cubicle . There is no excuse

Exactly, dignity for the girl wanting to use the toilet.

A small child accompanied by her father can use a cubicle in the men’s and retain her dignity. A woman having to deal eg with mooncup, won’t want to come out with bloody hands with a man in the room.

🤣 😂🤣 This post contains the most sense I've seen on this whole thread. Plus gave me the best belly laugh I've had in ages! Many thanks! 😆

Nothing about your view is obvious it me. The only thing that is obvious to me, is that some people are compassionate and can exercise flexibility and have the ability to cope with life events they encounter that don't exactly align with how they feel things should be done. And some people are so rigid and entrenched in their own narrow mindset they are incapable of accepting that not everyone thinks and feels exactly as they do. That they would rather a young child soil themselves whilst they exercised their perceived right to challenge the father from entering the sacred female space. When all he wants to do is take his daughter to the bloody toilet.

You are coming across as quite rigid as well - it’s one of those issues that evokes strong reactions, whichever side you are on.

But anyone can make an individual decision for their individual needs surely?

So you would take a young girl to sit on a filthy toilet purely because you are worried a man might see you washing your hands 😂

So women have to put up with it because men are filthy? Nice.

What amazes me that quite A few people on this thread have said we shouldn’t have single sex toilets at all but we should only have unisex cubicles everywhere.

but given I’ve heard that the seats will go missing, and the men will pee all over the seat and the floor, I’m not convinced.

How are children going to use these toilets if they are all disgusting? Or… maybe it’s women are expected to clean them once the men have used them? How progressive!

Anarchy99 · Today 14:37

@dracn i suspect everyone catches your drift… It wasn’t that subtle.

That’s usually how it goes, men ruin everything nice, can’t be trusted to keep toilets clean or behave properly, so women have to give up their spaces and shut up about it.

Who has said they're all disgusting? I've not seen this?

I’m sure you did find it hysterical.

I think some of the more extreme pro-men posters have been taking the piss as I don’t believe intelligent women think like that.

GoldenSandy · Today 14:40

The majority of the thread has been saying that men’s loos are too disgusting for men to take their small children into. People have said men pee all over the floor and the seats and even have somehow removed toilet seats (not sure how). All listed as reasons why the women’s have to be used.

Duckduckgander · Today 14:42

Anarchy99 · Today 14:35

Come on, it was funny!

Randomness26 · Today 14:43

I'd sooner a man come in with his daughter to use the female loos than take her in the men's which always are filthier snd men using the urinals with maybe 1 cubicle available.

Duckduckgander · Today 14:42

Really?

I didn’t think so, but then I don’t think disabled people accessing disabled toilets should have to wait for a non disabled person, so I’m not the target audience.
