AIBU to be deeply concerned about the sheer number of unchecked undocumented unknown men coming into the UK?

This is some dystopian lord of the flies hell. Those poor women. Burned on the boat. Wth. Poor man stabbed to death. Why are the people that did this then going to be roaming free in the UK? Why are they allowed to enter the UK in the first place? Why are gangs not being 'smashed'?

Why won't the government tell us the truth about their crime rates?

AIBU to be deeply concerned about the sheer number of unchecked undocumented unknown men coming into the UK.

Channel chaos as migrant dies, two women burned and one stabbed on same boat

Forty-five of those on board continued towards the UK and were picked up by a British rescue vessel.

Aw do stop with the patronising blurb breezy. Some of these publications are the only ones who tell the truth, we saw that in the TWAW debacle. When the left wing version of the daily mail, the guardian, insisted on referring to raping trans men, as women. For example. You do need to wake up if you are stuck in a mindset of this news source Good that news source Bad. Be more aware. Read around a bit. Take it all in. make your own decisions. try not to be blinded by the limited news sources you read.

ps. wrt to the story ref 2 women being burnt on the boat, and one man being stabbed. For their sake I hope it is not true. We shall see.

Edited

Kindly OP, the Guardian is not the left wing version of the Daily Mail. The left wing of the DM would be The Mirror. The Daily Mail and The Mirror are tabloids, and are accessible to those with a reading age 8 years plus. The Guardian is a broadsheet, and broadsheet generally requires a reading age of 12/13 years plus. This might sound snooty, but it's a fact that outlets such as the Daily Mail, The Sun, The Daily Express are aimed at those with lower educational levels. The quality of their journalism is generally much poorer and they have often been found to be on the wrong side of history. The Daily Mail was all for Hitler in the 30s! The Sun and it's smearing of Hillsborough etc.

Most of the tabloids are about preserving the interests of the very wealthy, as are some of the broadsheets. What's in the interest of the very wealthy at the moment is preserving their wealth, we live in the most unequal time in recorded history, and the easiest way to so this is to sow division. Divide and conquer and sadly a lot of people are lapping it up. And as before, I want the small boats to stop and agree that immigration has been to high, especially since Brexit.

What do you mean?

If you’re trying to have a discussion about this situation then you need to actually write more than just ‘try harder’.

That’s not a discussion.
That’s you not having a valid response and trying to shut me down.

I think this is a really important topic because the current system is not working but it does not help when posters like you start a rage bait thread with fake stories, use the daily express and daily mail as ‘evidence’ and then have no defence when people call you out on it.

You’d have no independent review of proposed legislation? The Supreme Court was deciding whether the government’s proposed scheme complied with existing UK law and the UK’s legal obligations. It didn’t.

Like I said earlier we are basing new stuff on outdated laws so we need a new framework .

We can't be held prisoner by the big business in immigration law

IcyShark · 30/08/2026 12:02

Absolutely you are not being unreasonable!! When was the last time we saw boat loads of migrant women and children only coming across?
These are middle age, fighting age men coming across apparently fleeing war yet they must be leaving they're women and children behind.
I fear that with all these undocumented men there are so many over here now and so many unaccounted for something will happen in this country from the inside, from right on our very streets. I fear, like many parents for my children's safety and future.
Not to mention the pulling power this country house. Free NHS care, benefits, social housing, school meals and places..... the list is endless.

It's because only Dr's and engineers come and obviously they don't like educated women

Popstarrrrr · 30/08/2026 12:09

Of course we should be talking about young men from countries with appalling cultural attitudes to women’s and safety in particular coming over to the UK (or anywhere) and being free to move around our communities. It’s foolish not to recognise that there will be issues integrating single young men from places where violence (especially sexual violence) against women is commonplace and culturally acceptable in a way it isn’t here, no matter how much people like to claim that being a woman in Britain is just as bad as being a woman in Afghanistan or Eritrea or Somalia.

Out of interest, which countries have men who don't have appalling attitudes to women.

Urgh ! All these ‘so concerned’ people - I bet they all voted Brexit. Stupid fuckers.

now the social media landscape is trying to make the uk sound very bad. It’s not, it’s lovely. I have a lovely safe life - great places to live, culture, education, freedom. And so do all my friends and family. I do not recognise the uk portrayed by these posters.

obviously the rapes by immigrants are terrible and they should be jailed + deported.

the world is facing a lot of issues. British people should pull together to face climate change and make societal change. Not throw their hands up and go ‘we are shit because we now have some brown people in our society’

This is all just a distraction - get off your phone and volunteer in your community. Pay more tax to fund better services. Help your neighbours! Be a nice person. Delete all app owned by the genocide enabler mark Zuckerberg.

You are quite right. In which case it wouldn't matter how many undocumented men we imported or what country they came from....

Have you thought of marketing those rose coloured glasses you're wearing? You'd make a mint - on second thoughts, maybe not 🤔

Women only achieved the vote very recently in our counties history.
Pay in equality still exists.
We have many problems with misogyny and male violence but most people born here understand the basic premise of equality
Having said that we do operate a two tier system were we say some girls freedoms are worth less than others and turn a blind eye to their plight.

But we have campaigns ,education, debates and laws that all support equality.

We are heading in the right direction on a long road. .

How can we absorb thousands of young men who have not only not started on the road but don't know of it's existance and who have been raised in a complety opposing culture where women are property of their men etc ? How ?

why don’t you change your view and be happy that you are paying tax for a fairer society and to work to improve the one we have built ?

hating on everything just uses your energy which is what these posts are designed for. Get off the phone and go help people. Enjoy yourself. It’s later than you think

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 30/08/2026 12:22

In the year to March 2026, approximately 29,500 undocumented men arrived in the UK - this is approximately 0.424% of the population of the UK. This is a tiny fraction, and I think the right wing media are fearmongering.

Stop the 'pull' factors.
They get 3 meals a day comfy beds, gym and laundry facilities and free bus-rides into the nearest town.
Put them in tents on the Outer Hebrides and they'll soon stop coming.

Comments like that make me laugh. Do you want to stop pull factor, then stop advertising what they are getting online. I see again and again comments across all social media akin "they come over and get everything for free - a house, a car, benefits". Whether or not it is true, it's irrelevant. You just put the biggest advertisement into the universe and every man from across the globe can see it and think "oh, I get all that, do I? Better get on that boat".
You want it to stop? Then start thinking about what you share online.

Sorry but nobody mentioned anything about brown men in which you refer to. Regardless of their skin colour or where they come from its the fact that we dont know WHO they are or WHAT kind of background they have? We dont know whether these individuals have committed offences in other countries on the way here.
Clearly you live in a very nice area as you have pointed out but alot of these men are housed in local communities mostly council areas where services are stretched as it is. Jobs are not plentiful so there is nothing for these men to do. I happen to live in a nice area but hasn't stopped our local authority trying to house some next to a primary and a secondary school.
Perhaps you should leave your nice area and explore other areas of the UK where this seems to be an issue and speak to locals themselves about how they feel. If its not happening in your postcode its not happening full stop 🙄

And then the law was changed as it should be to have deemed Rwanda safe and we could have sent them there.

No, but comments like that are not just on mumsnet. I regularly see them on facebook, and I am sure they are rife on other social media platforms. I don't understand the logic. If you want people to stop coming, then surely you will be trying to spread information that life for asylum seekers here is absolutely terrible so it's best not to come.

…yet another thread about migrant crime rates, that’s 3 in 3 days. Almost like a concerted campaign…..

OP the views you are after are all on the other thread (the first was deleted). Nothing new will come from this one, so suggest you stick with that.

You betcha there’s a campaign - because the alternative is admitting untold numbers of men. And being told including on MN to look away, you’re racist, you have to accept it, it’s our punishment for past misdemeanours (including French colonies etc) or that there is no evidence of threat or if there is then it’s a small price to pay. NO THANK YOU.

Weak governments from Blair onwards

to add - will make me vote Restore or Reform regardless of the idiots running these parties - it's a last hope of someone doing something

Edited

Rupert Lowe would remove all UK gun laws as he is a fascist. He referred to the death of 16 five year old children and their teacher as 'one murder' in an interview with Joe Rogan.

Reform councillors are laughably incompetent and useless. I doubt they'd be any better in government.

FirmSnake · 30/08/2026 12:54

You're not wrong to be concerned. But it is a complex issue without an easy solution, and is very unlikely to ever improve.
The only real solution is global commitments to peace and sharing of resources, and that isn't going to happen.
Ultimately, we take in a relatively small proportion of the world's displaced people, so some perspective is helpful.
Being outraged isn't going to help.

No but these posters are the type to read these things on social media and their engagement increases the popularity of the posts and it therefore spreads even wider.

Facts then get lost and people start believing things that they read on social media and media sources like the daily express/mail.

Then having a discussion becomes almost impossible because half of the stuff that they think is fact is completely made up or they’re so focused on blaming the ‘left’ that the arguments they’re trying to make don’t make sense.

I remember seeing a post when I was on Facebook about a refugee family being given a mansion - it was the Omaze house and there was simply a brown man advertising the competition but people believed it because they read it and didn’t bother to fact check.

And then there was the time that someone joked about Big Ben changing its name to Massive Mohammad and loads of people got so angry over it 😂

It’s exactly the same with the whole Andrew Tate and Incel movement.
It’s the algorithm that’s the problem.

The current system isn’t working and there needs to be a change but rage baiting and scare mongering doesn’t help.

I don't disagree with what you are saying but it also gives a useful way of looking at this.

Women and girls safety is weak in this country. Yes we have laws and legislation aimed and making a difference but in practice with minimal conviction rates for rape and sexual assault, two women killed by an abusive partner or ex partner every five days and not counting the underreporting of VAWG and VAWG related deaths by suicide we have a very bleak picture in this country. By far the main perpetrators of these crimes are men. Men from all backgrounds and walks of life. VAWG is the best example of diversity and inclusion there is. So should we worry about more men entering this country? Yes we should because men are the risk factor and even with our laws and so called cultural premise of basic equality in this country we continue to fail to keep women and girls safe. And whilst we point fingers to 'those over there' who come from 'worse' countries we fail to address the systemic harms within our own political and legal systems.

What I'm saying, with admittedly far too many words, is that if all the frothing about immigrants/migrants and others was redirected to those in power, to the men in our lives we'd make the right difference for women and girls.
