This is some dystopian lord of the flies hell. Those poor women. Burned on the boat. Wth. Poor man stabbed to death. Why are the people that did this then going to be roaming free in the UK? Why are they allowed to enter the UK in the first place? Why are gangs not being 'smashed'?

Why won't the government tell us the truth about their crime rates?

I’m glad you are showing concern for the poor people in the boats. It’s heartening. However, the crossings have to stop because, as you say, they are chaotic and dangerous for the vulnerable people on them. It’s unrealistic that they would stop overnight, so the first step is to reduce numbers and make it more difficult. It is regrettable that the criminals involved in trafficking are so careless of safety, but still - fewer people are at risk which surely you see as a good thing?

Why would OP start a thread about poor women getting sunburnt - people get sunburnt all of the time, it’s not enough to start a thread over it.

Nope it’s madness watching Labour do it this way. Of course the whole system is bad, as said. I haven’t changed on that.

I’ve said what I think we need. And I think Labour should start talks on it now woth other countries, but even if they did there would be asignificant lag. People would still come. So do you want more people in more boats or fewer people in fewer boats in the meantime? Or is it that you couldn’t possibly see anything positive in anything done by a Labour government?

The burns are sunburn - so why didn’t the headline say ‘two women badly sunburned’? And why did you repeat the phrasing Those poor women. Burned on the boat.?

Even if it did (which it doesn’t!) it would be a lie because the French report on it (that this article has used) does not say anything about a stabbing!!

You know the daily express/mail lie so why are you so hellbent on believing that over the actual people who were there and reported it.

I’ve just noticed that - it does mention stab wounds in the report but that bold section that @CoventryCity says is ‘linked in the OP’ isn’t in the report at all. Is this more careful wording? Implying it’s a quote (which I assumed, despite having read the linked article because I don’t have a photographic memory) but not actually saying it’s ’in the link’ so you can deny it’s a lie that you said it was in there?

One person died from a heart attack that has been confirmed but the French authorities have no said anything about a stabbing.

Yes it says the daily mail reports there are stab wounds - the daily mail apparently got it from the French report but the French report doesn’t mention stabbings (so they lied).

But OP said it was confirmed by the French authorities and hadn’t linked where they’ve said this (and it doesn’t say it in the OP link either).

People pointing out your inaccuracies and deliberate twisting of facts doesn’t mean you are popular. And this post confirms you know you’ve written stuff that is misleading, or you would be proving otherwise. Honest.y, I’d really prefer not to have to spend my Sunday evening pointing out misinformation, but we are where we are.
